Would never happen, but here's a crazy deal I thought of...
Toronto
Gunnarson
Kadri
1st
St. Louis
Stewart
Rattie/Jaskin
1st
Values not terrible, but we need the more defense oriented guys as Gunnarson is pretty much our only D first guy.
Kadri is slightly better then Rattie imho.
Our 1st is more valuable.
We downgrade about 15+ spots in the 1st round, trade away a few years of development with Kadri and lose our only Defensive dman for a good PWF who needs to show a little more consistency.

I strongly disagree on Kadri being better than Rattie.
Posting in here cause I know there's gotta somebody looking....
If the season is cancelled, when can deals be made? Is there a trade deadline? Or does there have to be a CBA in place still? Are all transactions/trades frozen until its met?
Why? It is a lateral move at best. At worst, the Leafs absolutely lose this deal if the first rounder turns out to be top 10.
What do YOU think hes worth? I see you defending him throughout this entire thread.
Kadri is still young enough where hes not a bust obviously, but you have to admit you expected a bit more out of him up to this point when he was drafted.
If that trade comes through, you'll have Blues fans chanting Thank you Stewart when Mackinnon, Jones or Barkov score against the Leafs next year. I doubt Burke will risk a repeat of the Kessel disaster.

I'm assuming you're talking about the fact he hasn't yet made the NHL? That's what you would expect at this point?
Kadri is doing just fine. He's improved every year and in fact last season he improved almost every time he came back up to the Leafs, to the point where he was one of the best puck possession players on the Leafs when he was up there.
Him up on the team would be useless up to this point. Wilson wasn't willing to give him a top 6 spot and it would make little sense to have him on the third line.

When he was drafted did you expect him to not have a full time NHL spot by the time by the end of his third professional season? Thats my point. Not saying its a bad thing either, people develop at different rates on different teams.
He will be fine, never said or thought anything different. I'd give up our first (assuming its on the later side) for him in a heartbeat. I was more responding to the other poster who seems to defend Kadri mercilessly.
Not a chance we'd do that deal though. The Blues fans don't even like the Gunnarson and a 2nd for Stewart deal. That 1st is what interests me...Gunnarson and Kadri are kind of side pieces to me...Then the Blues have an option with a good pick where they could do a D'agostini, Cole, and a 1st for a really good left handed d-man or a strong center.
So a player doing badly under a Hitchcock system should be traded to a team with Randy Carlyle as coach? Stewart won't make it in TO. Kris Versteeg 2.0.
