This is better.

EDM

Peckham
Paajarvi
4th rounder

COL

Enrick Johnson
Stephen Elliot

COL gets a nhl ready ppqb and some more toughness on the wing. EDM gets EJ, a solid prospect and Elliot, a boom or rust type of centre, which we need.

EDM gets the best player which is why they add a pick.

Thoughts?
Paajaarvis untradeable IMO, we probably see him top 10 in scoring next nhl season most likely.

The type of player Oilers need, and the type of overpay it'll take. Unfortunately Avs are a poor trading partner with this type of trade, they already have enough Hemsky-like players.

Easy no. Nothing against Yakupov, but he hasn't played in the NHL yet and his value isn't higher than Duchene's until he proves otherwise.

Pass on Duchene. I'd rather just keep Gags as our #2C (who drastically outscored Duchene last year anyways) and watch Yakupov tee up one timers all day, than worry about stopping Yak

Yes, you are right. Gagner is clearly much, MUCH better.

Would love Downie on the Coyotes, wouldn't be willing to trade what it would take. I was hoping the Coyotes would have traded for him from Florida. I have a feeling that GMDM tried but the league wouldn't let him. He is the type of player Tippet loves to have on his team. Torres - Gordon - Downie line would be a thing of beauty...

And yes Whitney was injured but its not like Stastny hasn't had issues lol.
Since when is Whitney a young first pairing LHD to partner with EJ?

I think I'd have a very hard time getting on board with Duchene for Yak + 1st. Much less having to add more to Duchene to make the swap.

IMO, Yak probably won't be as good as the next 6 draft picks. He might be effective playing on the #2 line for the Oilers, but I don't think he'll have an impact like other #1 draft picks.

I'd do the trade if hemsky could manage to play more than 10 games a season
