So Camara 9g 5a in 31 games with Barrie would have elevated Plymouth past London?
Spooner went for Kujawinski a possible 1st round NHL pick. It's not like Plymouth had the pieces to pull off a deal like that.
You're grasping at straws. I would take 2 Memorial Cups if Windsor didn't get those sanctions but that has changed my outlook. Immediate success for 5 years of upcoming pain? Count me out.
A physical power forward could have certainly helped against London. Given what he's doing this year, and knowing Plymouth's tendency to play a physical game, who's to say he wouldn't have put up better numbers on the Whalers?
As for Spooner - Hartman on Plymouth is rated right with Kujawinski. You could have had a Hartman for Spooner deal straight up.
As for the Cups...I'd take the Cups in a heart-beat. We had a strong year after and, despite a couple of questionable years, it's been a fun ride. I'd take two Cups and a few years of "this could be interesting" over "we're great, but we haven't won anything" in a heartbeat. The experiences from Rimouski and Brandon more than made up for it.
Lol, look what I started with my Plymouth comment
Ok, so missed in my post was my question (and maybe nobody knows), but the xmas trade freeze is when to when? Last year I think it was Dec.22 - Jan 9....
Anyone know?

I'm not 100%, but I thought I heard it started on the 17th this year.

Doesn't it only apply to players in the WJC? This year some of the bigger catches didn't make the team, so if that's the case it's less relevant than usual.

WJC players can't be traded from the time they leave to the time they return.
But I believe the league trade freeze is Dec. 17-27. Don't quote me though.
Sarnia Sting send OA Craig Hottot (who previously walked away from the team) to Mississauga for a 2013 3rd round pick (Belleville's) and a 2015 6th round pick. Via the Sarnia Sting twitter account.

Last year it was the 5th or 6th . I believe this year it may end on the 7th

That's the WJC trade freeze, which only applies to those players. The league-wide trade freeze definitely ends before New Year's. I can guarantee you that. I'm fairly certain it's the 27th this year, but I can assure you that by Jan. 1st, all non-WJC players are fair game.

Umm...yes they can. Steve Mason was traded from London to Kitchener while he was away with team Canada. So unless that rule came in effect since then, they can be.

I believe trades can be discussed but it becomes official when the WJC freeze is over. They don't want the distraction of the media asking about that stuff during the tourney which is what happened with Mason.

They can't effectively be "traded" and the announcement of such a trade can't be "leaked" until after the tournament is ended. I use quotations because the ruling is there..but more times than not the deals are the worst kept secrets in the hockey world.

Like Gromley heading to Shawinigan last year? Yes it's QMJHL, but still it fits..again with the QMJHL it been stated as universal fact that Huberdeau has played his last game in a Sea Dogs uniform.

Patience lol. Im not sure if its close or not but feelers are out. Some names have been talked about but Im sure Ott has a few others calling as well. Ott not the only team theyve talked with.
Hopefully Mark can work his magic again. He grab the couple pieces he thinks will get them over the top and hell try and do it at a good value for him and without mortgaging next years shot.
For all those thinking Bo or Max has to be included dont hold your breath. I cant see them moving along with a few other youngins. A big F being one of them
George said on the record that they are working the phones talking to rival GM`s, to feel out the market for some scoring. But he stated that they were not going to move any 96`s. Time will tell

He can only move 1..and that would be Petti. You can only trade 1st round 16yr olds.
So apparently, just a rumor so take it how you want, but Quine, Koekkoek, and Ritchie have requested a trade from the Petes. Ritchie would be a big loss considering his youth, but then again he'd fetch a lot as well.
I have to imagine Quine will be in the AHL next year, as he played a handful of games for Grand Rapids last year so the Wings must feel he is advanced enough.
Problem the Petes are going to run into here is no-trade clauses. Any top level talent will have no-trade clauses built in to their contracts when they signed, surely all first rounders - and I can't see anybody agreeing to play for the Pete's right now given how everybody is asking out.
So any trade that happens will have to see a team trading a later round pick that blossomed for them sorta deal.
