Alex Galchenyuk Thread 7.0 - "Gally the coffee maker"

Dont know if i can say that in english (Gally the coffee maker), in french it would be "Gally le donneur de tasse de café".

Good game all!

Note: sorry for my english but it is not my first language

How's Gall'y physical play? From what I've seen he's not much of the hitting type, right?

Correct. He's not shy to go to dirty areas and muck things up (or get mucked up), but he's not physical

Welcome.

The expression isn't used in english hockey terms though. Cup of coffee is used for getting called up for a few games!

Welcome to the forums (I'm quite new myself, but have been following this thread for a while - some very nice clips are posted here).

Don't worry about your English: it's perfectly understandable. (Je devrais visiter le site de RDS plus souvent pour améliorer mon français!)

Tanks jedimyrmidon!

I do not know if anyone remember the sentence by the commentator (at chok.com) on the goal of Gally last game? It was something like "man this defenseman lost is Jockstrap"

I'm not sure if I'll be able to catch tonight's game. I'll try to, but no promises. I will try to have a report up sometime later tonight/tomorrow morning. Hopefully CS has you guys covered.

Also, CrimsonSkorpion, what happened to those game reports you were putting up on your Galchenyuk Watch blog? I really enjoyed reading those, it's great to get another perspective on his play.

Gally the giver of cups of coffee would be a better name

It's all good. You're English is better than at least 60% of the people's French on here... Including mine.

Seems like Gally is off to a good start tonight. Just hit the crossbar.

1st period stats;
7 shifts, 7:04 TOI
3 shots, 1 takeaway, 1 turnover
2-for-2 in the face-off circle. Both were taken on the PP. The second one was taken by Gally due to Sarault being tossed from the circle.

Sloppy start to the game on both sides. Galchenyuk looked good, stick-handling well and passing it off at the appropriate times. He got a few shots on net but nothing too dangerous. He made a very nice no-look, between the legs pass to Boucher in the slot while on the PP. Also had a great chance while on the PK when he took a shot and gathered his own rebound, only to hit the cross-bar. Defensively, he's been a little slow on his skates and drifting behind the puck carrier often. However, Guelph is playing awful right now so it's not even a noticeable flaw.
