I can say I disagree with this completely. Seems like these are more opinions on why you don't like him rather then why he isn't a good hockey person. Also he doesn't just "breathe hockey" he lives it & has done so for a long time!
I hope you're not basing this completely on his commentating either & would love to hear more reasons why you don't think he is a good hockey person then just insults like "He's a creep" , "he's a moron" , "He's an embarrassment to broadcasting" & commenting on his "breadth of his stupidity".
All I need is his commentating. All I need to know Mike Milbury and Don Cherry are idiots is by listening to them speak, Pierre McGuire is no different.

You can say that about Milbury and McGuire but come on, Don Cherry is a living legend.
Sure but he's only hurting that "living legend" legacy by sticking around this long. I like Don, but the things he says is quite off-base.
Surprise! He always has. Remember Alpo Suhonen? Remember why he doesn't do colour commentary anymore? Remember the little weasel?
Say what you want about his views, I don't agree with most of them but the guy speaks his mind. That's what made him a "living legend". He certainly didn't do it by coaching the Rockies. Pretending only now has he gone off the deep end is revisionist history at best. He's not senile, that's the way he's always been. You take a look back through old clips, nothing has changed.
Tomas Holmstrom is expected to retire before the season starts. Surprised he played as long a she did, absorbing as much abuse as he did standing in front of that net. Detroit's glory days are slowly ending.

I assumed that he already had retired until I read this.
Detroit will struggle this season sans Lidstrom but should still make the playoffs. I think they'll probably end up somewhere in the 6th, 7th or 8th range.

Detroit's scouting staff is so good that they'll continue to be contenders in the league, even if their stars of the present are aging.
Since hitting some late-round homeruns 10+ years ago on guys like Dats and Zets, their scouting hasn't been very good at all, and the team is slowly melting because of it.
On the bright side, their scouting is bad enough that Mike Gillis's dream of modeling his team after the Wings is already a reality
12. Remember this story on Fatigue Science and the sleep experts hired by the Canucks to optimize the team's travel? Well, Vancouver signed a contract with the company that prevents it from working with any other team. Other leagues? No problem. NHL? No sale.
