Forgot that I still needed to wrap the gifts for the person I got in secret santa for our family christmas dinner tomorrow.

I go to wrap the 3 small gifts I got. No wrapping paper, no gift tags.

I wrap all the gifts with scrap wrapping paper so it's all mismatched. One gift even got 2 different kinds of wrapping paper for the same present

Then I had to go print off gift tags to put on them. Don't have a colour printer, looked like absolute ****.

Decided to make snowflakes to make it look better so I just did some arts and crafts cutting out snowflakes

Wow Spokane Seattle game must have been exciting to watch. 6-2 Seattle going into the 3rd period and Spokane scores 4 in the 3rd to tie it. In shootout now.

I had pretty much written off that game as a loss earlier

Mine was a joke. Did it all during easter weekend. Was scheduled I think 8 hours a day. But we probably took 1.5 hours or break at least each day and during the class he was just telling stories the whole time. We also got to sit in super comfy chairs.

Yeah, I was just browsing the thread a little. Is it a 100% done fact Jays are getting him?

Umm what? Knights not favoured to win against Guelph tomorrow. I know I said to myself I wasn't going all in anymore...But I'm going all in on that game
Guelph is a good team and all, but the Knights just beat Owen Sound who is better. Doesn't look like the lack of defense on the Knights is going to be much of a problem.

Not 100% done but it's pretty much there.. They are looking at the medicals from the last I saw..

And seems intriguing.

I know people won't like the trade because of giving up futures in all likelihood, but this is exactly the kind of trade the Jays needs. Their window right now looks to be 1-2 years, 3 tops. Dickey can provide pitching for that time and that has been the Jays Achilles heel.

Alright I don't know much about baseball, but is this really a smart trade for the Jays? I know Dickey won the Cy Young Award, but isn't that his only good season? And he's 38. Isn't the guy the Jays are supposedly giving up a good young player?

Just to show how little I follow baseball, this is the first time I've heard of either player involved in the trade lol

The Jays time is now. I think giving up futures for a guy like Dickey is a good move. You can't always be preparing yourself for the future. At some point in time you have to say it's now of never and go all in for a couple of years.

Dickey on (rough) average over the last 2 years has pitched 200 innings and has an ERA of about 3. Those are solid numbers and since he has averaged that the last 3 years I think we can assume he will do that for at least 1 more since his numbers have improved over the last 3 years.

Thing with Dickey, AFAIK knuckleball pitchers' arms aren't at risk to injury because they don't put anywhere close to as much torque as a normal fastball pitcher does. Probably saves him a good 2-5 years. With the Yankees and Red Sox on a slight downfall.. Now is the time for the Jays to jump on it.

I've seen that whole knuckleball thing extending someone's career thing. But with pitching there are so many fluke things that could happen we just don't know. For example, if a ball gets hit straight at him and he breaks a finger, his career could be done. Complete fluke accident but at his age even the most unlikely of injuries could spell trouble.

I still think we should go after and get him still though. Those fluke injuries are just that, fluky
