Anyway, the tickets are 19,50€ including the "handling costs", which are 3,50€ if you pick up the tickets from any lippu.fi dealer.

It really seems to me there are no numbered seats so I guess we don't have to plan it that way. I'm going, it seems that you're going, anyone else fancy joining?
Well I'll be there at least half an hour, probably an hour before the game starts to get a spot from Ice Hall's parking slots. I don't think there's too much attendace tho.

Not sounding good for Dumba, playing on Canada's FOURTH D-pairing today after the four "locks" on defense are sitting out:

Quote:
Bob McKenzie
Players not playing for Team CAN today vs U of Alta are the guys who are locks to be on the team. That list includes the following:

Huberdeau, RNH, Scheifele, Hudon, Strome, Ritchie, Danault, Jenner up front. Hamilton, Rielly, Harrington and Oullet on D.

Team CAN defence pairs: Reinhart-Murphy; Pouliot-Corrado; Wotherspoon-Sproul; Pelech-Dumba.

Why don't you park your car at, say, Itäkeskus and take the metro + tram to the ice hall? You'll save on fuel and having to drive through central Helsinki as well as having to pay for parking.

Just a suggestion though. If you're coming from Sipoo, what route do you use?

My route. I have a slight problem with the tickets tho. I'd have to go and recieve them from Lippupiste. If you have one close by you, could you get mine as well. I'll compensate fully ofcourse.

Assuming Dumba's out, Wild prospects are down to Lucia and Haula, right?

Haula's been too old for a couple years. It's just Bertschy and waiting on Lucia and Dumba with Brodin playing in the AHL.

Oh, right. So just Lucia then. Sounds like Brodin wouldn't make it as he's injured and won't be ready.

Yep.

So basically, instead of seeing Brodin, Dumba and Lucia live on 22nd, I'm only seeing Lucia among Wild prospects.

Still looking forward to it, though. Will be interesting to see how he handles Finland's D on big ice.

from the sounds of it tho Dumba had a horrific camp, most people were shocked that he even got the invite to begin with

Didn't hear much good about Dumba and this tryout.

Hopefully he takes this as a learning experience and trains hard to improve from what he failed at. I wasn't expecting him to make the team, but was hoping that he would compete at a high level. Today was a tough pill to swallow as a Wild fan. Luckily we knew Dumba would be a long term project, hopefully one day we look back on this and are in shock with how far he has come.

Dumba is raw, full of elite potential. If he can round out his game in the next 2-5 (?) years, I will be very pleased and excited to see him grow into future captain material. He still has a great shot, plenty of power and solid skating abilities. He just needs to grow into his position, hopefully he applies himself and has a chip on his shoulder from here on out.

Edit..... watched TSN's video on Dumba with the press asking him about being cut, and he is devastated!!! I would also add understanding, he knows he didn't play well... or at least played well compared to others. I think this could light a fire under Dumba a$$. Wouldn't want to be the next guy he flattens in open ice!

Didn't watch the pre-camp canadian games this year but I'm a bit surprised, Dumba was soooo good last year in them that I was a little surprised he didn't make the team. Looked better than Murray at least and Murray was only mediocre at best during the tourney too. Just goes to show how difficult it is to rate Canadian junior defensemen with their inconsistent play.

I am still incredibly excited to have Dumba as a part of the Wild organization, he just seems to have the perfect attitude to grow as a hockey player and I have seen enough of his step-ups to recognize some elite hockey IQ. I think his game now transfers far better to the pro game then the stupid over-fancy CHL games, although I don't doubt that there is always room for improvement in defensemen's lateral skating. Thankfully the Wild seem to have found some great skating trainers and if Dumba can spend some time training with Brodin I have no doubt that he can reach a higher level in that aspect of his game.

If I have any questions in Dumba's game it is how his shot translates to the NHL. I personally find his release very unorthodox, too reliant on wrist strength alone to score at the NHL IMO, but shooting is by far the easiest thing to improve on during practice.

Decision making at the canadian junior level for defenseman means little, there is too much disparity in talent and players pull moves that they never would at the next level (Huberdeau/Phillips/Galiev being recent examples for SJ followers). While I didn't watch his past few games, in the games I have seen him, Dumba has reacted very well in defending NHL caliber maneuvers.

edit: forgot this was the WJC topic. In any case I am very excited to see Lucia on the team, I haven't been able to see him at all outside of highlights. Also will be cool to see Mackinnon and Drouin together (hopefully they suck against the U.S.). Mac looked amazing in the subway series and I really need to see more of Drouin before forming an opinion on his professional aspirations.

You're going to the U20 Premiere in Helsinki?

He seems like a total project defenseman. All the tools but hasn't shown the ability to put them all together...yet. A lot like Brent Burns, except 5'11 instead of 6'5 and more physical.

If anything, it seems his hockey IQ and defensive play are the things that need to improve (along with his muscle mass), and those are some of the later things to develop in a defenseman.

So in 2-3 years he could either be a high end offensive defenseman with a physical edge who can play in all situations (PK Subban), or he could be a PP specialist who is a complete liability at even strength (MA Bergeron).

Calling all Nikita Zadorov nuts. USA vs Russia Dec. 28th, *day and time subject to change depending on the re-air tv time.

I'm looking forward to watching Drouin, (MacKinnon and Jones, but I doubt the wild will get that lucky) , Barkov, Lindholm and this Zadorov guy. Then guys after that Ristolainen, Galchenyuk, Lucia. So pretty much the whole tournament

I am most excited to watch Jones and Barkov. These are the two most likely to be drafted by MN (all IMO, zero knowledge of the situation) if they get stupid lucky in any format of the 2013 draft

Will be an interesting tournament for sure. Canada and Russia are clear favourites, they have very strong teams. I think our team is the strongest we've had in years with players like Barkov, Teräväinen, Ristolainen, Armia etc.

I don't know a lot about Team USA. Could you tell me who are the guys to follow on that team?

Thanks!

Players to watch on team USA (Most players on team USA were drafted in 2012 or 2011)

1. Seth Jones- expected to go 1 or 2 in 2013 draft.
2. Alex Galchenyuk
3. Jacob Trouba
Other notables: Tyler Biggs, John Gaudreau, Rocco Grimaldi, Mario Lucia, Stefan Noesen, Stefan Matteau, J.T. Miller
