This is pure speculation. The NHL will still exist as a legal organization if the NHLPA dissolves. It is the NHL that holds the draft as far as I know, not the NHLPA.
I would be very surprised if the NHL canceled the draft if they cancel the season. They should, but they won't . The owners will want the hype of the draft to keep fans interested. It would yet another ******** NHL move, but that does not surprise me anymore.

Yeah, they can still have a draft... they just won't have any right to apply it to the players they've drafted. And no right to refuse players signing outside the draft results in the meantime, basically. They would have to collude in order to preserve their draft results, but collusion would be illegal too. Soooo... I don't know, a draft will be very difficult for them to hold without it being part of a new CBA settlement.
If we could just sign Drouin and Barkov and whatever Habs fans are out there, though... we have to be all for this as Habs fans!

I would like to up the bid to Jones,Drouin and MacKinnon.Go whole hog and make it Barkov and Lindholm and give up our 1st round picks from 1970-1980.Fair Deal.
I'm really hoping that we can get a shot at Drouin. Will be a leathal combination with Gally. And what about Mantha out of the Top 30 ? Could we steal him at the beginning of the secound round? And who is Samuel Morin? Really big D-man, just like Tinordi. Could he be the last big body we need in the back end?

I suggest you take a look at some of his fights on youtube... He hurts people.

Could he be a good fit for Montreal. It would'nt hurt to have a big badass D-Man who can protect Carey after the whistle. Other guy like Tinordi would look perfectly on our line up. How is he defensively ? Does he move well for a big guy? Does he have offensive upside? I don't care about offense actualy, we have all the offensive d-men we need. We need a other stay-at-home d-man.

D pairing of Morin and Tinordi.
Which goalie could/ would you think the habs would look at in the 2nd round ?
Calm under pressure. Big, and a puck mover I think they'd be looking for.
I truly apologize if this link has been posted prevously but I saw this on another board and well since a few like myself are mock draft junkies, I figured Id share this here

Toronto shouldn't be given extra balls for giving their lottery picks to SC winner Boston. They already had UFA's to sign but they give away their 1st round picks for two years only to be in line for more lottery picks Boo!

It wasn't a first overall pick, so it doesn't matter.
