Lets look at the track record for Hobey Baker winners' success in the NHL. It seems the original poster was hoping to stash someone away for future NHL hockey fantasy success. The skillset required to pile up points against league bottom feeders does not often translate to NHL success. Guys like Michael Mersch, Austin Czarnik, Alex Guptill, Ben Hanowski play games more likely to translate to the NHL, though probably won't get Hobey consideration. Kevin Porter, Marty Sertich, and Peter Sejna certainly aren't guiding anyone's fantasy team to any championships.
Kristo will never win the hobey based on his off ice issues.
I totally agree. Player's with "off-ice" issues seem to not have an issue making the Hobey Top 10, its making the Hat Trick and winning it that the off-ice stuff comes in to play. If Kristo has the numbers to be a top 10 finalist, he will be a finalist, but that is as far as he will go.
