I thought one of the reasons Seto was traded that he partied waaaaaaaay to much and he was dragging Logan with him?

I'm glad we got Burns. I'm not glad we traded Setoguchi but that's part of the price you pay for a talent like Burns. However, Seto is exactly what we need right now. A speedy player that can be put pretty well in any of the top three lines and add forward depth.

I didn't particularly like Seto, but I didn't hate him either. That 3 year deal we gave him before he was traded, I thought that was too much for his inconsistency issues as well as his problems with playing defense. All in all, that deal for Burns was definitely the right thing to do both for the future and for the present, imo.

I'm okay with moving Seto. But its tough losing Coyle, a top prospect AND a 1st round pick. Also in the Mcginn trade, we also gave up a man named Sgarbossa. He's still young and potential but its turning out he can become a NHLer and could be a good one

I miss yelling "The gooch is loose" when he occasionally turned it up and put on a show, but other than that...

I went to two Reign games this last couple weeks, both times Setoguchi wasn't even close to the best player on the ice. Kyle Clifford was way better than him, and same with the normal ECHL guys. The coach kept putting him out there, yet seemed like he couldn't do anything. Couple times I could tell he was a better shot than the other guys, but even his speed didn't seem any faster than the other players.

Probably because he doesn't feel the need to play hard. That's always been his problem.

yup he got the i'm to good head, once he got the once in a life time chance to play on thornton's wing. and he thought he would never have to try again to keep playing on his wing.

To be fair though, he's probably playing not to get injured.

true i wouldn't put full stock into what you seen in the echl, but then again if that play is the norm for him in the nhl as it is in the echl its a pretty telling status.

I'm gonna assume it's something similar to what happened last season. Still no reason yet...

Not looking good for his reputation either way.

EDIT: Wild's Devin Setoguchi says he is taking time off from ECHL team

Per ECHL rules, he cannot be reinstated for at least 45 days.

In addition to the uncertainty surrounding the lockout, Christie said that Setoguchi was going to San Jose for a personal reason unrelated to hockey. By suspending Setoguchi rather than releasing him, the Reign can add a player to their roster without losing his ECHL rights.

Christie left the door open for Setoguchi to return.

"We talked about maybe down the road, if nothing happens, in playoffs," the coach said.

you know you are on thin ice with your career when you personally have to say this

Quote:
"It's not like I got suspended for doing something," Setoguchi said. "[The coach] wants to keep me on the roster, but this way no one else can pick me up."
