WBS look as terrible as always, Hynes has some strange ideas for lines.
Crosby is making money up the *** from endorsements, signing bonuses, ect. I think he would be fine with playing for WBS for very little.

It's the insurance that is the issue, not the salary per se. That's why he's quite limited with where he could possibly go in Europe.

It's fun to imagine. I bet 150 points in 50 games isn't out of the question. He was on pace for 138 in the NHL last year, it's entirely possible for Sid to average 3 PPG in a weaker league.

This is never, and I stress the word never, going to happen.

I can dream, can't I? I think he'll just train all lockout, then he will completely destroy the NHL next year.

If there were to happen, what's going to stop some goon from just grabbing and pounding his head into the ice? If the lockout goes full circle, he'll probably sign in Switzerland, I think.

Jail. But in all seriousness, I'd rather him just stay in Pittsburgh and train until next season. Become better at everything.

Seems like the Baby Pens are having some trouble filling the net these last few games. From most articles or commentary I've seen, it sounds like Tangradi has been playing well in the A, though he's on a stretch of only 1 goal in the last 11 games. From those that have been watching quite a bit, is he a little snake bitten perhaps? Playing well but just not getting the breaks?

He's not getting any help. The only offensive capable forwards we have right now are Bennett and Tangradi. Our centers can't score, they can only grind. Not to mention the team probably doesn't have any faith in Thiesen.

Holzapfel has been solid too.

I'd say of the new guys, Ferriero and Smith has been disappointments, Holzapfel has been a decent contributor and Peters has been fine in his grinder/pest role.

The issue is that WBS just isn't skilled offensively. They just don't have it. They are great defensively, but they can't do anything offensively. They need to sign some free agent to a 1 year deal that can actually score. Or sign Crosby

Oh **** morrow is fighting!!!

That's why I love Morrow. He is very good offensively and has a gritty game. I can see why the Pens value him so highly.

Morrow did not show well there. Hell, no one has really shown up well this game.

Peters underwhelms on the stat sheet but in the games I've seen he's been pretty effective. He's probably the most likely to get the C eventually.

Every time I watched a game this season the Baby Pens have played like crap. No transition game, tons of turnovers, stupid penalties, static power plays, no flow to their game. They have so little chemistry it's like they never had a training camp. Looks more and more like it was only Zatkoff's amazing hot streak that caused the good November run. The free agent signings (except Holzapfel and Reese) are disappointing and the rookies are still learning the ropes. The entire team looks messed up somehow.

They desperately need a guy like Brett Sterling or Dustin Jeffrey.

The supporting cast in WBS is just really sub-par.

Jeffery is tearing apart the German league (over a PPG average), so it would be nice to have him on WBS. He's a natural center also.

Any player on an NHL contract last season was only allowed to sign with an AHL team if they were on last season's clear day roster, or were sent down by the NHL club (and if eligible for them, cleared waivers). The ECHL has no such rule, which is why a bunch of NHL players are signing with teams in the ECHL in order to stay in North America, and not with the AHL.

So, no, Crosby is not allowed to sign with WBS.

Why did Shero not bring in any talented veteran forwards in the off-season? It seems the only guys with skill are the youngsters who, ideally, you'd want surrounded by veterans with skill to help them out.
