MacKinnon, Jones hold down top two spots in the ISS December prospect rankings

It isn't a major surprise that 2013 NHL Draft prospects Nathan MacKinnon and Seth Jones have been named captains of the two squads of draft hopefuls taking part in the 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. The two players hold the #1 and #2 positions in the December rankings released by International Scouting Services, as they have for each of the rankings reports released this season by ISS.

The top five in this month's rankings remain unchanged from last month, with just one new addition in the bottom half of the top 10. Big Russian center Valeri Nichushkin moved back among the top 10 prospects for the first time this season after having been ranked among the top five prospects in ISS's final 2013 prospect rankings from last season.… read more

I knew someone was missing, it's Domi. Watching him, there's no way he's not a first rounder.

Domi hasn't been in any of the last 3 ISS rankings. They must not like him.

Nice to see Bailey sneak into the top 30. Know he played for the Long Island Royals last year.

FWIW, Domi is ranked 36th by ISS this month. He was 33rd last month.

Nurse ahead of Ristolainen and Pulock, really?

Not that I know much about these guys anyway, but I've heard so many people saying Ristolainen and Pulock were great, and not much on Nurse. What is he like to warrant such recognition?

There's no way Nichushkin is a top ten pick in 2013.

Obviously, it has nothing to do with the talent he does or not possess.

Pretty sure Button still has Jones at #1. I know there's also some people on HF who watch a lot of junior games that have Jones at #1 (including myself)

De La Rose is higher than on many other lists. Hoping he falls to the second round.

Pulock seems a little low. I don't see him dropping out of the top 10.

I know it's about projection.. but from what I've seen in the 'O' this year: Domi >> Dickinson, Kujawinski, Bailey. I get he doesn't have great size, but he's got a non-stop motor, great hands and he's an above-average playmaker. I really like the Brad Marchand comparison someone made before, though I think Domi has more talent.

Can someone please explain to me what the issue is with Anthony Mantha?
He's got very nice size, can skate, and at last count had 27 goals, which would put him near or at the very top of CHL goal scoring. And it's not like he has a world class passer playing along side him.
I know that stat don't tell the whole story, but not even a potential top 30 selection?
Seems kinda odd to me.

Very good player playing on a very low profile team...we're talking about Val-D'or here lol.

The draft will be hard to predict just like last year but mostly because there are so many good players out there. I can see him being a top 15 pick if he reaches 40+ goals.

Every time someone goes to see him, they come away disappointed and post about it here. Faults are lack of effort and drive, streakiness, and one-dimensionality. He is generally invisible despite putting up tons of points.

Max Domi looks like a future top 6 player to me, I would rank him anywhere from 15-30 right now.
