Columbus says no.

Jenner is proving to be better offensively than previouslly believed. He's solid in the defensive end, and now shows he has some scoring ability and is top-10 in OHL points. Sure he may be older this season, but the OHL is far more competitive this year than it has been in years.

I compare Jenner to a potential Mike Richards, I think Columbus says no until he takes a step into the NHL.

Paajarvi needs to prove he is more than what he showed last season. His stats in the AHL have improved as I'm sure he's not playing a first line role in the AHL behind Eberle, Hall and RNH, I think Paajarvi is on the wrong team where his abilities are not being utilized properly. (outsiders opinion)

That said, I reassure that Columbus says no to this offer and keeps Jenner.

Gonna at least buy Howson dinner first?

Columbus values Jenner very, very highly. It would take more than Paajarvi to acquire him at this point.

It seems like both these threads you have started are never going to happen. You should at least think about the other team's needs first.

this trade would make Columbus more offensive, Paajarvi is young and fast.

And Jenner is younger and proving to be a very solid prospect.

The only difference is Columbus is happy to wait on Jenner to produce in the NHL when Edmonton is waiting to see if MPS is coming back.

as long as he doesn't become the next Brule.

Paajarvi is NHL ready on Columbus.

Says who? While his last stint was with Oklahoma?

I don't know how highly touted Jenner is in Columbus, but I'd rather have him on my team than MPS. Was hoping Toronto would take him 25th that year.

Losing Jenner and gaining MPS does not make them more offensive.

MPS + 2nd for Jenner, and even then, it's a maybe.

MPS is not that impressive, from what I've seen him do in the AHL.

The Blue Jackets would not even consider this trade. Jenner has been having one hell of a year in the OHL. He's shaping up to be a very very good young player.

Pajaarvi for Buffalo's Luke Adam is still more realistic/doable.

EDIT: also there's about 6 Oilers proposals on the front page. This seems excessive.

Columbus easily says no here, no offence to MPS here but Jenner is looking like a legit prospect right now and his draft stock has only risen since being drafted, in-fact it still boggles how he fell out of top 25, let alone out of the 1st round.

I fully expect him to become a legit and effective top 6 forward in the NHL with a solid all-around play in the mold of Mike Richards.

I can easily tell most Oilers fans wouldn't want to do this because of draft position of both players, MPS was drafted very and Jenner was drafted out of 1st round. I can safely say it doesn't always work like that, especially in this case, MPS has finally started to show some signs but Jenner is simply better and much safer at the NHL level, I think he has legit top 6 upside.

If I were Oilers, I would make this deal in a heartbeat, Jenner would be solid 2nd line C behind RNH for you guys.

Jenner is one of the few prospects whom I wouldn't mind overpaying for.

Great pick by Columbus, he was truly and is one of the gems of the 2011 draft.

Trust me, he would make your team much more competitive than MPS and since Oilers are looking for the potential 2nd line two-way C, Jenner is exactly that and realistic possibility as well.

Lol what? I've been really high on Jenner since prior to the draft, and I'd basically guarantee he ends up the better of the 2, but he's not right now

Agreed, for Jenner to be better, there has to be a product shown in pro-hockey, not juniors.

Why? Because he isn't eligible for the AHL?

There's nothing to really compare the two and I don't think it's so clear cut, so nobody really knows which one is better. I think Columbus keeps Jenner pretty easily here.

Jenner (If he lives up to his potential) would be a great #2C in Edmonton. He is a center that can play LW and is good defensively.

Columbus needs help with scoring and I don't think Paajarvi would help them there.

I don't see either team pulling this trade off based on needs/wants.

No. It's because Paajarvi just flat out is better at this point. Despite a rough sophomore season, Paajarvi has proven to be a capable 2 way, 3rd line winger in the NHL

MPS hasn't proved anything in the NHL so far... Great potential... But so far failed to live up to the expectations. He is far from an established player at this point.

Jenner on the other hand was drafted as a Mike fisher potential, but the offen sive outburst makes him a potential Rob Brind'amour. He's still unproven to the NHL cause he did't have a chance, but Due to his style he's a lower risk for a similar ceiling to MPS.

Therefore CBJ politely decline...
