Goaltender Mark Owuya has been sent to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. Owuya was third on the depth chart behind Ben Scrivens and Jussi Rynnas, but was kept with the Marlies due to Rynna's being injured. In four games, the 23 year old was 2-2-0, with a 3.79 GAA and .833 save percentage.

Hopefully Gardiner comes back at 100%, we all know how Reimer did after he came back...
To be fair to Reimer he was rushed back, against Boston of all teams.

Aside from Steckel's faceoff skills, Colborne is all round better player than him, so I'd say if Steckel is good enough to play for the Leafs, then Colborne will contribute even more a year or two down the road. Our hopes of Colborne being a 1 or 2C may be evaporating but that doesn't mean he can't be an effective 3rd line guy.

Steckel had 30x the goals in their last AHL season lol

Anyways, I'd just hold onto him, unless we can get another good prospect back; I'd trade him for someone like Stransky, Johnson, Ullstrom

Steckel had a 30 goal season in the AHL at age 24.

Steckel at Colborne's age had 17 points in 63 games.

Colborne had 39 points in 65 games as a 21 year old.

Keith Aucoin, tied with Kadri for the points race, has 3 goals, 19 assists. Colborne 1 goal 5 assists. Marlies are really a veteran AHL team, so Colborne is still on the young side even though he is 22 on this team. Kadri and Gardiner are the only "kids" producing offensively.

Did steckle ever start off a season with 19 Pts in 13 games at any level then suffer an injury that should have shut him down for the season but decided to play through it? Everyone here is far too short sighted just give him time to get his confidence back. I'm sure it will take a while before he feels 100% given that he didn't even start the season fully recovered

I think Colborne is slower than Steckel.

Ironic in a discussion about concussions to Gardiner, that we want a player who is about punching people in the head on the team.

Basically, the Leafs should never trade with the Bs again. I can't really say its worked out too well.

Dealing him and a surplus D we might get solid bottom 6 winger who is young big and headed to the Leafs not a career marlie.
To go along with the other 20 bottom 6 wingers we have?

how do you figure colborne is the better all around player? that's not shown in any stats. steckel had 30 goals in his third ahl season. we see what colborne is doing so far in his third ahl season.

lets not look past steckel 2 very good playoff showings in the ahl as well.

we hope for colborne to be better, but there's no evidence of that.

Colborne is quickly becoming terri-bad. I've lost count of the amount of Marlie games where I've had to do a double-take to see if he was a healthy scratch or not.

I was a big Colborne fan and always tried to give him the benefit of the doubt when it came to criticism but I don't even see him topping out as a Steckel 2.0 at this point.

Colborne was good today, aside from his multiple penalties.

Still don't think he's going to be anything in the NHL.

What the hell is wrong with this guy. He just seems disinterested in playing hockey. He has size which he doesn't use and skills that he never shows.

He's loaded already, he doesn't have to play hockey for money, just for his leisure lol

He's just not that good. He is invisible in almost every game and doesn't have a skill in which he excels at.

Eakins should try him out on wing. You never know how things would go. Put Aucoin centring him for a while and see what happens.

I met him after the marlies game. He's improved his skating but you have to be patient with players with that size.
