It's a pretty similar situation IMO to the Coyotes defensive prospect depth. Sure, in 3 years time the Coyotes could have 4 top pairing guys; no exaggeration. But that doesn't mean you go unloading them now because if the ones you keep fall apart you are SCREWED.
Knowing the Diamondbacks luck( and indeed Arizona teams in general) that's exactly what will happen. Skaggs I think is pretty safe, but Corbin is a long shot to be top of the rotation guy IMO. Miley could be the next Collmenter, Hudson may never be the same, and Kennedy is solid but probably not a top 2 guy. This team is way less deep in pitching if you really break it down. Especially after this move.
Gregorius might be a nice player, and I don't pretend to know everything about it. But trading a prospect with top end of the rotation talent for a defensive oriented SS prospect IS INSANE.
And even if they just had to trade Bauer, I can't believe this is all they could get.
I wonder with him coming up last year and struggling lessened his value a bit?
I'm pretty bummed I work tonight, the UofA/Florida game is going to be really good. Not often I get excited for a basketball game before March Madness, but #4 vs. #8 sounds intriguing. I"ll just have to watch the replay of it after I get home.
Also, anyone planning on going to the World Baseball Classic when it comes to town at Chase and Salt River Fields?
Win that win by the Cardinals, the team manages to shoot themselves more in the foot with getting the highest draft pick possible. Not that it would matter all that much anyway seeing others are arguing the upcoming draft is more defense heavy and Larry Fits calling the shots on who the team should go after.
