When drafted in 2011,
I asked for an all around player that can lead the Rangers to a Stanley Cup and I believe he will help the Rangers through his smart and intense style of play to many Stanley Cup chances.

With 3 goals in 21 games, 5 goals the previous year in 29 games... he was said to have difficulty finding the back of the net. 30 points or so in 50 or so games. Yet he was said to have a strong two way style of play, hard nosed, intense, leadership and strong on his skates.

After that draft, JT Miller popped off. 62 points in 61 games in his rookie OHL season. In his first year along side men in the AHL he has 14 points in 29 games. I understand none of these stats are to WOW about but its his solid stats on top of strong and over the hill hard working game. At 19 years old, I think he has a strong chance for some Ranger time this year (if a season exists) and more of a chance to play next year on the first team. Plus he will have time to show off his skill I guess in the WJC. One of the top prospects available.

I think he will only grow more and more.

I believe he will be a top player for the next generation of Rangers. A generation where hopefully the Rangers already have one Cup. An older Hank, a more grizzly leader and older experienced Callahan. Rick Nash having made a true name for himself haha.
A guy can dream...

anyway, yea JT MILLER
I'll have to agree, I'm a huge fan of Miller. He is doing great as a 19 year old in the AHL and has more points then Kreider. The team he is playing on isn't great either.

I'm gonna vote Tom Wilson. If he'd made the WJC team, I think he'd get a lot of exposure, but at the moment he doesn't get much attention. He's huge and legitimately mean, so many power forward prospects you look at and say "he COULD be physically dominant if he was more aggressive," while Wilson just has that "hit everything that moves" mentality. Many people think his skating sucks, I think it's fine, not bad for a guy of his size. Solid hands and hockey IQ too, I just find him to be underrated offensively in general. Most Lucic-like prospect since Lucic, I think he's going to be a punishing, scary power forward in the NHL.

Most of the Stars' prospects are underrated on HF, actually. They almost never get talked about.

At least on hfboards, you constantly see people say he is a surefire NHLer, more than likely a #1 guy, a top-5 defensive prospect, and so on.

On hf, at least, he seems a bit overrated.

For the Blues I'd have to say Jani Hakanpaa.

I'd say d'amigo for the leafs, or garret sparks who was a 7th round pick and playing very good for the guelph storm, maybe even a backup role with USA.
I wanted to say stuart percy from the leafs, no one ever talks about him, same with biggs, its like the 2011 draft didn't happen on the leafs board

For me in Detroit's pool with Tvrdon going down for the year it is really up to three guys. Landon Ferraro who is playing dynamite in Grand Rapids and restoring a lot of what people thought in his draft year but have since come to think he would never reach and wrote him off. Then two D-man that not a lot of people know a ton about. Marchenko over in Russia, probably would have been the captain for team Russia at the WJC last year if he wasn't hurt but injuries are his big problem. Right now he runs the point for CSKA and is earning a lot more ice-time. Then probably my favorite for this Nick Jensen. I see no way his skating doesn't get him in the league. He is decent sized kid and has improved in all zones. Clever with the puck and an occasional lights out hit because of his ability to close and accelerate. An awful lot like an alumni from St. Cloud State University, Bret Hedican.
I agree that Jensen could be Detroit's most underrated prospect.

Hayes
McNeill
Danault

2 years of 1st rounders. Not highly thought about here on HF

A lot more people here are noticing Danault after his showing at the WJC camp.

The under-rated Hawks prospect for me is Pirri. He is always a throw in to many trades involving the Blackhawks for 2nd line C. Pirri did well in the few games with the Blackhawks and I think is the answer to our 2nd line conundrum if given the opportunity. His offense is already there and while defense may not be up to the mark, it doesnt need to be given that he will centering Hossa and Sharp.

Not sure if it's been said for the Avalanche but I feel Mike Sgarbossa is underrated. Guy isn't just flying under the radar, he's flying in some tunnel. The pirate is second in rookie scoring in the AHL behind Justin Schultz.

Hes very under rated. just because people know who a guy is doesnt make him rated correctly. people know him for the wrong reasons. i think u guys get confused about what the word under rated means.

For the Devils, I gotta go with Artur Gavrus. He draws a lot of similarities to Grabovski and Sergei Kostitsyn

I disagree. Maybe it's because I'm in Boston but Gaudreau seems to get a lot of attention. I think the Flame's most underrated prospect is Wotherspoon, a personal favorite. Loved watching him in the SSS

A possible 2nd line centre with first line upside vs a sure fire bust.
