I understand blaming the defense, but when your offense gets shutout, your defense is bound to give up points. Think about it. Your offense getting shutout means the defense is on the field a lot more than they should have to be. It's the equivalent of having the puck in your own end for 45 minutes in a 60 minute game. And then blame Lundqvist or Girardi when they had to do so much more than they should have to because other players weren't doing their jobs. Not to say the defense was good, but it's bound to happen.

Meanwhile, it's been a frustrating second half, undoubtedly.

And Vernon Davis is a physical specimen. That is all.

eli is just an inconsistent quarterback. he's been like that through most of his career. he will be good for a stretch of games and then awful in the next stretch. i dont think that's going to change. but he has led them to two super bowls so you just gotta take the good with the bad.

I'm not pinning 10 points on the defense that were the result of Eli's incompetency. I am blaming the defense for what they did to allow the Falcons to go up by 14 and then to go up by 24. These weren't short field situations and in both cases they allowed Ryan to air it out for a big gain: one for 33 yards, the other for 40 in the end zone.

Even when the score was 7, it was 3rd and 11..and we allowed Ryan to throw it to Hernandez for a TD.

That ain't gonna cut it.

Best post that I've seen in awhile. I agree wholeheartedly.

If the Jets can win tomorrow, then they have a decent chance of making it. Still have to win out, but now, Pittsburgh is 7-7. If the Jets win and get to 7-7, Bengals to beat the Steelers and eliminate them. Jets win and need to be Buffalo and Cincy and Baltimore are possibly battling for the division or being eliminated from the playoffs. I wouldn't bet against the Ravens in that situation. Need to win tomorrow. Worried Chris Johnson might go off.

Also the possibility of the Colts losing to both KC and Houston to get in but I'm not banking on that. Just win tomorrow night and keep it going another week.

This is nuts. Just nuts. Everything has gone both teams way...calls, bounces, other teams mistakes etc.
I find it deliciously ironic that a Giant fan is lamenting about how fortunate a team has been at the end of a season.

EDIT - Looks like the image got removed from the HP thread, so I'll just link it instead. A picture of Tebow's Gmail

Eh, I find it delicious that the Giants win Super Bowls.

To each his own.

Although I would not be shocked to see the Jets win tonight because of how ****ing brutally bad the Titans are.

They really need to get rid of this ridiculous hit to the head of the QB crap. Correct call, but that should not be a penalty.

LMMFAO.

And Sanchez fumbles the HORRIBLE snap to end the game after they get a gift of a punt.

Dear Lord. Talk about the Jets season in a microcosm.

This may be the worst football game I have ever seen. At least the Arizona game had an awesome winning drive.

I posted about it on the NFL board

He's falling when the defensive player hits him. Are we supposed to teach the players how to estimate where the head will be at all times?

It's a joke how protected the offense is in the game.

sanchez literally just cost them a playoff spot. had a chance in the last two drives. first one throws a pick. then a horrible punt puts them in fantastic field position and what does he do? fumbles the snap. the guy should get cut from this game alone.

When have the Giants been fortunate at the end of a regular season?

Mark Sanchez is probably the worst QB in the NFL not named Tim Tebow.

When they show Sanchez's reaction after every INT or fumble, it reminds me of a teenage kid getting caught by the cops with a case of beer in the car.
