they also were taken to game 7 in the 2 series that they won, remember the last time the canes made the playoffs?
Yea except the Caps and Sens were the worst possible matchups that the Rangers could have got. If they got the Flyers, Bruins, or Panthers those series would have most likely lasted less than 7 games, especially against the Flyers.
It depends upon which version of Nash, but I more than certainly agree on the likelihood of Tarasenko not being on the level of any of the above for at least his rookie season. McDonald might be able to play the Gaborik role (including being oft-injured...) since he seems to come alive during the playoffs.

They were also 1 loss away from losing in the first round.
So....
When the Bruins play 3 game sevens, it shows perseverance and toughness?

Until then, I think St Louis and Vancouver are the favorites in the West, and maybe even the Kings with the long offseason.
Not to derail, but not until Ryan Kesler's role is something less than "check the opposition's best players and provide two lines' worth of secondary scoring."

remember how cocky ranger fans were about playing the devils, they were already thinking about the stanley cup final, you have no idea what could've happened in any of those match ups anyway

I remember seeing tons of Devils were going to win the Stanley Cup after they beat the Rangers. We are the cocky ones.

Well, I'll keep in mind your comment about how the Rangers are gonna need to get through the Islanders
For you this is likely rhetorical, but I simply have to wonder...has any King ever had a less than spectacular playoff? Not a less than spectacular single round, but the whole thing?
Let us ponder on that for a moment. Start with the captain, yes?
Dustin Brown

6 1 1 2 1 -3 6 0 1 0 0 10 10.0 120 20:00
Well that hardly seems fair...certainly a captain for the team cannot be expected to haul the team through both season and post-season.
Perhaps we should look at the player who most consider one of, if not the, reason the Kings won the cup this past season. Surely he has never had a sub-par post season.
Guess the goaltender (hint: despite that first listing it is not, in fact, Kelly Hrudey)

6 2 4 20 229 209 .913 3.16 1 380 0 0 0 0
...Oh.
Well, in both of the above instances there was only a single round, doubtless in your mind I am sure this really was not fair.
Oh, and just to defend my statement re: Gaborik, since you seem...disinclined to vet my assertion.

Of course, but I never claimed that any Kings player "comes alive during the playoffs". So therefore, why does it matter what the Kings do?
I'm talking about Andy MacDonald and how constantly overrated he is by Blues fans. You (a Blues fan) said MacDonald comes alive in the playoffs and I proved that to be wrong. The Kings players have NOTHING to do with this discussion.

I recall how cautious Rangers fans were about playing the Devils. Not cocky. They were one of the hottest teams in the league going into the playoffs. In addition to that, their heavy-forechecking style wasn't the ideal match-up.
You ran into 1 Rangers fan who was all high and mighty and your slapping the mojo he was flaunting on all of us. Get your **** straight.

actually every ranger fan i know was ridiculous cocky going into that series, and i also thought it was going to be an easy series rangers win, everyone pretty much thought the devils didn't stand a chance

I was attempting to show sample sizing more than anything else. I did so in a personally-amusing way by showing that I can pick virtually any player and make them look as less than a playoff player.
The second selection, Jonathan Quick, if we were to use your methodology would come up as a passable-at-best goaltender.
I now realize that you will evidently need to go further in math before I can appropriately have a conversation with you regarding such things as sample size and averages.
My fault for being overly-presumptuous really.

That and someone needs to explain what a playoff performer looks like to him.
Really, just don't feed the trolls. I had other King's fans apologizing for that troll in PMs during the playoffs, he really isn't worth your time.
A better understanding of math, as you said, and a better understanding of the difference between a really good to great playoff performer and a generational playoff performer would go a long way for that guy. I mean, if I were him I'd be too busy celebrating my team winning the Cup (still) to be trolling fans of other teams, but:
