Watch out for the Finns.

I don't think Laughton would have been on the team w/o the 10 games. He may be playing well but I also think he would have been on the outside looking in.

Any news on Gibson's injury out there in Kitchener? Hopefully he is ready, would be a tremendous loss if he couldn't play.

Is there even going to be any coverage on US tv? I was in Canada for the championship game a couple years ago and it was really freaking cool. The whole bar was singing the national anthem going crazy. People don't even get like that for the Super Bowl in America, let alone junior hockey.

NHL Network usually shows the US and Canada games. I guess they will do it this year too.

I was watching Flyers/Bruins from 2010 last night and there was a quick graphic ad saying something something like WJC, 12/26/12 on NHL Network. With lockout still ongoing, maybe they'll show a few other games?

You would think, but I have no clue. Does TSN carry the other games as well? If so they may just use their feed. Then again, the games are at odd times so they would have to show replays. I doubt they'll do it, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I thought the NHL network has had a large amount of games in the past.

Some, but not many.

edit: Someone posted the NHL Network will have this schedule, but I don't know whether he listed all or just the US games they'll show:

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The NHL Network-U.S. will broadcast live all U.S. contests at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, with all preliinary-round games being re-aired in primetime. The NHL Network-U.S. will also air Team USA's two pre-tournament games live from Finland.

An additional 12 games from the IIHF World Junior Championship, set for Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Ufa, Russia, will also be aired live on the NHL Network-U.S. and then be re-aired later that same day, including six preliminary-round games and the entire medal round. A complete schedule is below.

In addition, NHL.com will provide a live stream of all Team USA tournament games (available only in the U.S.).
So they are showing a good amount of the tourney. It's not like they have anything else to air.

Nah it's been on NHL Network for the last 4 or 5 years and I don't even think it was televised in the US before that.

Believe it or not ESPN showed it one year. Think it was the 04-05 lockout year.

I really hope Ghost makes the team cause I'm really excited to see him play. He's probably my most anticipated prospect even though he's probably still a few years away from being ready for the Flyers

Agreed. Everything about this guy excites me. He's far away, and I'm trying to not get my hopes up, but what a promising package...

Yeah it's really hard not to be excited about him, especially with the Flyers prospect pool.

Also, really excited to see how the Finns do. Ristolainen and Barkov are going high in this years draft.

From this ESPN article:
http://insider.espn.go.com/nhl/blog/_/name/nhl_draft
Quote:
Shayne Gostisbehere, D, Philadelphia Flyers (Union-ECAC): One NHL executive called Gostisbehere a quality "offensive defenseman who's very smart with the puck and makes plays." Gostisbehere was very good in the summer camp and even though he's in a weaker college division, he has stood out the last two seasons. He's got a good shot to make the tournament roster.

With games starting in about a week when do team rosters have to be finalized? I mean i can't imagine this going on much longer, guys have to get a couple days of practice in w/ their line-mates.
