My thinking too. Any minor question mark = still injured.

Hopefully he's actually 100% recovered when he comes back. Sick of this coming-back-early mentality.

Why do I have the feeling that if the season was on, he'd be back by January?

Probably for the best that he finally gets to recover fully instead of coming back too early.

Yeah, it seems to be built into his nature. But the Canucks have got to help curtail that side of him. If you want to truly help the team, heal up and be a much more effective guy down the road.

Or perhaps he's just afraid of losing his spot to Schroeder?

Because the only way he won't play is if they break the damn shoulder again. Kesler is a warrior.

Didn't get notice Alex Edler did, but Jason Garrison (groin) also cleared by #Canucks. Team saves about $400k per payday.

Well it's good to have these guys rehabbing without the pressure of having to get back to playing, I'll say that much.

Great time for Kesler, Edler, etc. to take their time and get fully healthy.

A silver lining for everything, I guess. We've been so plagued by injuries in the last two seasons, it's definitively a good thing there's been plenty of time for everyone to get up to speed.

Indeed good with Kesler and Edler getting some more rest. And I think that goes for some other players too on the team. Injury wise, are there any other team which is in the same benevolent situation taken the current NHL affairs?

Look, I like that you guys can find something positive out of this, I really do. I'm a glass is half full kinda guy...

But the comparison between the plus of a couple guys not being rushed back from injuries compared to the minus of what it is to be one of the 5 best teams in the league for one of the very few seasons in this teams existence -- and having that season wiped out -- ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE.

It's kinda like being excited about the great miles per gallon your car is getting -- as it is going over a thousand foot cliff.

Bougieman...we are in an awkward position I think. It's great to get 3 months of or so. But it completely ****s us to not have a season at all this year. We are on the cusp of the lockout affecting us good or bad. There is a breaking point for us and I think the breaking point is the post-Christmas time. that being Dec. 26-Jan. 7. If we don't get a deal then, we lose huge.

If the season is actually lost then yeah we're pretty screwed. But strictly speaking from a "Cup run perspective", a shortened season is the best thing for the Canucks.

If you guys had to gamble, would you choose:

a) A shortened season starting right now, with our guys still kind of banged up as they are, or:
b) The current situation as it is now, up in the air, with no one knowing whether there'll even be a season at all. Payoff could be huge though if a shortened season with everyone healthy... or could lose big if it's wiped out entirely.

Option A, any day of the week.

Also saw this in the Vancouver Sun today:

"Typically, the Sedins aren’t worried about their statistics or lost salary – $6.1 million US apiece if this season gets scrubbed entirely. But they’re concerned about their team, which went to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final two years ago, won a second straight Presidents’ Trophy last season and were poised again to challenge for a championship."

“We’re not getting younger and we’re all in our prime, pretty much,” Henrik said. “To miss a year now, that’s not good for us.”

Any update on Kesler? Hope he comes back as healthy as he can when he does.

We would have been so screwed with an 82 game season and kesler out for this long.

Still a ways to go, I'd imagine. Hopefully he is in game shape when he is back though.

What was the last report on Kesler? Probably at least another month away yeah?

We know Edler/Garrison are good to go, and everyone else has had plenty of time to heal bumps and bruises.

Hoping Daniel is 100% recovered from his concussion.
