Just to clarify a few numbers in here.. The Carwin v Lesnar card pulled in over 4 million in gate. Montreal cards have basically ranged from 3 to 5 million. Regardless they make good money in both places, but a few numbers in this thread are off.

Yes you're right on the $4M gate for 116, the site I was using had a typo. That makes a lot more sense as that was one of the bigger events of the year.

Yeah, it is kind of funny how he tries so hard to look mean. Ronda Rousey does the same thing and just makes herself look retarded as well.

It's the small forehead. According to the Nazis, it means the man is of low intelligence. I am willing to side with the Nazis on this issue.

Max Holloway in vs Leonard Garcia at ufc 155.

Garcia is going to get lit up. McKenzie was a great match up for him, this one is terrible.

The Cote-Sakara rematch is off (Sakara injury) and Cote is moving to 170.

Cote has looked pretty soft at 185, it doesn't really surprise me.

Coté's known for not giving a crap compared to other fighters during training camps. He started MMA by destroying his opponents with his power punches ala Hendricks, despite his belly fat and man *******. Now he has no choice anymore, he has to have more discipline if he plans on being successfull. Give him a fun fight with either Alves or Koscheck at 158.

Bad match ups for him...both would destroy him.

Mike Swick or someone of that caliber.

Josh Koscheck vs Robbie Lawler at UFC 157

Quote:
Robbie Lawler, who has won multiple titles at middleweight, is dropping down to welterweight for his return to the UFC when he takes on former UFC welterweight title-challenger Josh Koscheck at UFC 157 on Feb. 23 at Honda Center, UFC officials announced on Wednesday night.

It's weird because Cote strikes me as just being a generally big guy, like his frame, but he's never cut up at 185, so 170 will just force him to actually get in great shape. Typically this sort of thing doesn't help guys all that much, but it at least buys him a couple more fights.

Has potential to be one, but I doubt it. I don't think Lawler (2-4 in last 6) will be able to hang with Kos' wrestling. Also, I thought Lawler cut alot to get down to 185 (no?), so I can't see him having the stamina to deal with Kos resilient wrestling-based offense to be able to constantly fight his way back to his feet and still hit him enough to get the KO.

Kos will stand and trade..its been a while since he used his wrestling. Hes fallen in love with his overhand right.

Disagree completely. Kos stands when he has an advantage on the feet or he can't take a guy down. Neither apply here. Look at the Daley or Rumble fights. He would be a fool to stand with Lawler when he has easier ways to win.

Too bad lawler went to Kos, him & cote would have been a fun fight. It would alsorake the cut advantage away as lawler hasn't cut to 70 in about 4/5 years.

I'd like to see him fight Amir or Matt brown instead of someone like alves. WW has so much depth, I doubt they'll put him up against a former title contender off the hop, except for maybe dan hardy, which would be really fun to see.

Cote has poor TDD and a terrible ground game. I dont see the most wrestling dominated division in the UFC a good fit for him.

Whats the end game for him a WW tho? Doesnt he train at tristar? Would he even fight GSP?(not that he will ever get the chance)
But MW aint working for him so wtf why not.

We'll see. I hope Kos does use his wrestling sincs hes superior on the ground to Lawler in every way. This is will also be Kos's first fight post AKA correct?
