Croxley Ales. it's on Avenue B. They have a **** ton of beers for acceptable prices as well.

The cache is that it's on Mondays I think and you have to buy a beer for $5 (they don't sell a beer for that). I got a bottle of Coopers Pale Ale for $6

In my city, being on Avenue A, B, C, or D means you either live there or you're buying drugs there.

I wonder who/how the Mayan end of the world thing started anyway. I read a few weeks ago they never made any such prediction, and a new calendar would just start on December 22, 2012.

I heard the Mayans ran out of room and then died out. Something like that.

1) Their time period would end the 21st and usually means celebration going forward. I think the comparison was 1999 to 2000. Although we freaked out for that too.

2) Leap years killed the Mayan thing already. But I'll be out Thursday looking for a show.

I forget who said it but it was kinda funny. Something like the Mayans couldn't even predict their own demise, why do people believe they could predict everybody else's?

I read something a year or two ago that the mayans may have been 50 to 100 years off. Whatever who cares like helidevil said. They couldn't predict their own demise!

Weather FINALLY going to turn seriously cold this weekend.

And this looks like long-lasting arctic cold until at least mid to late January.

Should give us a number of decent chances for snowfalls, the first of which looks to be December 26 or 27.

Where do you find all this **** at man? I'd like to see what I have in store for me down here. At least we haven't had any freezes yet like the one that killed a palm tree in my front yard the year before I moved in.

Some of it I run myself from the US and EURO databases. For things like precipitation type, temperature, and storm-finding.

For the complicated stuff like predicting long-range weather, I rely on experts and follow about 5 or 6 professional meteorologists on Facebook.

The thing people dont understand is that you cant trust the 10 day forecasts you see online at weather.com or accuweather etc.., because they're on autopilot after about 4/5 days and do not incorporate what the models are seeing quickly.

For instance, the 10 day online forecasts for down by you in FL say it will be in the 70's December 25 - 27. Well, right now both the European and the American computer models predict it will be much colder than that, but you wont know that from TV news or weather.com etc....

Yeah I've noticed that. Especially with storms. I look at the 10 day forecast, and it's a 10% chance of rain for 5 or 6 days from now. By day 3 it will say 80% chance of heavy rain, and thunderstorms. And that's what will wind up happening. I don't assume the weather reports on weather.com or the other sites to be true unless it's 3 days away. Anything more than that, and it changes ridiculously.

Coolest thing right now, down here when you say you are from New Jersey, people say "How did you make out in the storm, let me buy you a drink"

It's awesome! People here are just spectacular.

I've always wanted to take a trip through Louisiana. Like I said a few days back. If I ever do a long trip I'm I-10ing it to California before I do that trip up the coast again to Jersey! Even if it's 2.5 times longer!

That's a very good rule of thumb, especially for storms as you said.

This might interest you, NOAA released it today. It's their January prediction, which confirms model guidance and several other important indicators predicting a colder-than-normal January for almost the entire country (though normal for you in FL).

Go here and get some catfish (Sammy's). It was the best I had my entire week down there a couple years ago. I hope it's still a good place to eat. Service was slow as snot but then again I was in no hurry.
