Not very much. 5-10 pounds of muscle requires you to lift 3+ times a week, not too intensively (be sure to get legs in once a week to promote all around growth and speed up the process) and take in a decent amount of protein to support growth. Meaning just eat extra meat and eggs during the month, especially on gym days. If you really want to speed it up grab a high potency protein drink from 7-11 after each workout. The RTD51 (?) has the most protein and most 7-11s I've been to have it.

Most athletes have more, depending on the sport. Obviously the bigger the sport requires the athlete be, the more muscle mass. Sprinters will have very low body fat, so their composition is largely muscle, but they still have significantly less muscle mass than a running back who may be close to as fast, much bigger and have more body fat as well. Adding 5-10 pounds of muscle is easy, especially when it's that first 5-10 or so. For me to add 10lbs of muscle now would be incredibly hard being that it would push me to 210lbs. To go from 150-160 several years ago was cake by comparison. If you want it and you follow a routine you will get it.

Tip of the day and it's one that's worth more than it seems.

Drink water.

It's winter, days are short, nights are long, the air is dry and the wind is cold.
I neglected to drink much water and went on a self indulgent diet since I finished with classes last Tuesday and in a week, I've managed to dehydrate myself to the point where nothing is functioning right and I'm sore and feeling ill and to make matters worse, I had a cup of Starbucks coffee and I didn't get any shut eye because the coffee completely destroyed me in my dehydrated state.

Achievement Unlocked..

The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. Third rule of Fight Club: someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule: one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: no shirts, no shoes. Seventh rule: fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.

Current workout goals:

Back Levers - Getting there
Front Levers - Will tackle after I can do a back lever
Pistol Squats - By the new year I will be two measly steps off of these. Should be here by spring break, possibly sooner.

I don't even know if I want it, to be honest. I'm researching this lineage company and it just seems like a Yardbarker type thing. Not quite sure what the Rangers end-game in partnering up with them is. But it doesn't look like you're working FOR the Rangers, just writing about them.

I did something similar over at ProSportsBlogging.com ... but they fired me because I was double posting the articles at their website AND my own website oops

If they offer it to me and I decide I don't want it, I'll throw a recommendation your way

Awesome! I really hope I get considered. I mean, all's I have is a semester of UB but with some advanced classes and clubs, and some volunteer work under my belt though.

Maybe that opens some eyes in the NHL? But I doubt it.
