I've always wondered what the perception of the Sedins would be if they played for Detroit instead of Vancouver.

On top of that, imagine their career point totals if they played with Lidstrom for a decade.

The Sedins main are the reason people hate Vancouver. Not saying that's right or wrong, but they would be hated equally. A better argument is if Kesler played for Detroit, he'd be universally respected.

They might be the main reason you hate Vancouver, but they're not the main reason most people hate Vancouver.

Not going to vote, there's nothing any of these 3 players have done to make me hate them.

Seguin has a reputation for partying and apparently being a ****** in high school. Sedins' have a reputation of being nice off the ice and donating a ton of money to charities.

There is no set criteria in this poll. It's just who you like better, on the ice, off the ice, or both. I don't hate Seguin, I just dislike him more than the Sedins.

I don't understand why or how people hate the Sedins? They are pretty much class act players who just play the game. Very charitable guys as well, really don't understand the hate.

Well he is nice to me and other fans who sit near the bench. I haven't heard anything about him behaving like an ass off the ice.

Seriously, how can you hate two quiet, unassuming superstars who never cause controversy and who, off the ice, donate millions of dollars of their own paycheques to children's hospitals and other charities.

Only on HFBoards...

Seguin is a punk, and I hate his attitude. I missed the vote, I just wanted to voice my opinion... IN AMERICA!

The Vancouver Canucks have an active presence in their community, and the Sedins have always done their part. They participate in the team's visits to the Canuck Place hospice, lend their faces to initiatives like Jeans Day for BC Children's Hospital and also play in celebrity golf tournaments.

Daniel and Henrik made a name for themselves as philanthropists of the first order after signing their $30 million free agent contracts in 2009. In addition to accepting less than market value, a few months later they announced that, along with their wives, they were donating $1.5 million to BC Children's Hospital.

Quote:
The twins' desire to play together means they need to be respectful of their team's salary-cap issues, since two superstars cost more than one. Daniel and Henrik signed their five-year deals with the Canucks in 2009 when they were on the verge of free agency. They took the 'home-town discount' because they believed in their team, but also because they wanted to ensure enough financial flexibility for the Canucks to do right by the rest of the roster.

Quote:
[Henrik Sedin] has played a total of 892 games, for an average of just over 81 a year. That means that Henrik has missed just 10 games in his entire NHL career—4 in 2002-03 and 6 in 2003-04.

He hasn't missed a single game since the lockout—seven seasons—and is currently in second place on the current NHL Ironman list to Jay Bouwmeester, with 581 consecutive regular-season games played. That also puts him seventh on the NHL's all-time Ironman list.
Quote:
In their eleven years with the Canucks, they've missed the post-season just twice. The past four years have brought four Northwest Division titles, two Presidents' Trophies, a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals and numerous other franchise records and achievements.

There really isn't a legitimate reason to hate the Sedins as people. Maybe you dislike their ability to put pucks in your teams net; maybe you have a particular distaste for their dives (though there's probably a player on your team who is much worse for it)... but as people? Just ignorant..

Love Seguin as a player, hate him off the ice. I've just heard too many stories. Too many people know him in the Toronto area.

Plus that smug grin...

I met him when he brought the Cup to Brampton & Toronto and he was quite nice despite having a line of over a thousand people waiting to see him and the Cup.

I'm not sure about that one ... I was always under the impression that our Quebec boys Burrows and Lappy were the main reason people hated the Canucks. I think the Sedins would be a lot more respected if they played for a different team.

Need to find someone who knows him personally I guess then. People who say he's an ass off the ice, well, they're not lying.
