Washington gets:
A very cheap cheap very good LW for their 2nd line who has put up 40-50 pts on a team with low offense. He is a guy who works hard every night he skates hits and scores he is also great on the pk. He has a NTC and has a ranch here but I think he would consider playing with ovi and co on a contender. They get Stajan who was in the dog house last year buried on the 4th line but is very able to put up at least 30 points.
Flames get a great C prospect in Johansson. He had a good year last year and will end up as a decent #1 c or a great #2 C

Reason: One sided trade for Calgary
Calgary is not doing a tear it down style rebuild. They are changing the type of player they draft and put under contract. They've had great success lately with their drafts. Dennis Wideman has yet to play a game for the Flames, and you've already declared the move a failure.
In terms of value it's not even close and I can not possibly ever describe how completely lopsided this trade is. I don't want another infraction for doing absolutely nothing but arguing, but words can not describe how lopsided this is.
No. No no no no no. NO. Seriously did you take anything into mind when coming up with this proposal? It fills zero needs for the caps, in fact I'd argue it creates holes, as well as the value is not close at all

not saying it will, dont act like i did.
something to keep in mind is we only have gio and widemen signed long term on D, jbo is almost done and unless he turns it around i doubt we'll resign him
AND why would we look in any other off season when we found one this past offseason?
Most non-Caps fans think we're desperate for wingers, which is not true. Johansson can play top 6 wing (and has in the past), so there is no reason to trade him for a winger. Furthermore, Johansson is our only long term 2C option, while we have a couple promising winger prospects.
