NFL in Toronto - Terrible idea

The largest city in Canada can't even support a CFL team ffs! They don't deserve an NFL team.

Even the players hate it there.

Toronto will never get their own NFL team.

They only support the NHL in that town.

And even that is allot of suits that got tickets from their corporations

Toronto could easily support an NFL team. I have no idea why people think the city not suppoorting the Buffalo Bills means they couldn't support their own team.

Oh btw, who won the Grey Cup this year?

Toronto Bills games have putrid attendance and "fans" don't know who the Bills are in Toronto

Highly unlikely a NFL team could sustain relevance there

Yeah, I mean no offense to Toronto sports fans, because I know from watching Leafs & Jays games, they are great fans. But from watching these Bills games on TV, the atmosphere in SkyDome for these NFL games is atrocious. I remember when the Dolphins played the Bills there a few years ago, it almost seemed like a Dolphins home game. Plus, I am told there is no way to tailgate for these games, which is also a shame.

Its not that they cant support a CFL team...its just they are not interested in the CFL lol.

As far as a NFL team in Toronto I dont think it would ever happen but I believe that support for their own NFL team would be alot different then going to watch a team (bills) that really is not embraced as a toronto/home team. You would almost think it would be hard to support one team or another as it is more of a spectical.....say like Arizona and St. Louis playing in Rhode Island.... I do realize a lot of T.O. people do follow and support the Bills (based on business associates and conferences I have been to in T.O.)

Didn't mean to offend Torontonians, but their football fan base is pretty pathetic lol. I'm fairly certain they could never support an NFL team so I guess they'll have to stick to ****** () ole' CFL for the rest of their lives.

Hard to judge the fanbase there when the Bills aren't their team, the Bills aren't a good team, and they usually get mediocre matchups. I'm not sure if support would be better if they had their own franchise to support, but I doubt people there are getting fired up to watch the Bills given the current state the franchise is in.

No offense but Toronto is a better sports market then Washington DC ix. DC does not support the wizards and not too long ago cap games were empty.

The Blue Bomber lose money and wont sell out when they suck. You also got a team back in a league(NHL) which is shut down possibly until 2015. What are you laughing about? Did Winnipeg sell out those Coyote HOCKEY preseason games?

There's 6.5 million people in the area. It's bigger then Boston or DC.

No one gives a damn about the Bills, or the armpit that is Western New York in this city.

The notion that the Bills are somehow Southern Ontario's team is ludicrous.

Furthermore, the 'fans' at these series are hardly fit to be called that. They are definitely not indicative of sports fans in this city. For example, the Raptors have been abysmal for a long time, and still have drawn a large attendance over the past 6-7 years (Top 8 league wide).

I think the problem is that Toronto is in another country so the fans' split is less driven by geographic distance and more by who is good at a given time.

It's also too far from Buffalo to really have any sense of connection to that city and let's be honest who would want to feel connected to Buffalo if you lived in a much bigger city like Toronto? It's not like Windsor to Detroit where Windsor is much smaller and literally right across the river and Detroit is easily the closest big city.

We're talking about football here, not whatever the ******* the CFL is.

And, Wood is 110% right, what's the point of a home game if your home fans don't go. They make a lot of money for doing it and I understand that, but the money is the only benefit.

Come on now... When was the last time the Bombers lost money? Only two CFL teams lost money last year... Hamilton and Toronto. It's not like I expect Argos games to sell out every night (barely any CFL teams do), but I at least expect them to show much much more appreciation toward their team. The Bombers haven't won the Grey Cup in over twenty years and yet the fans keep on coming.

no, but he seemed to allude that the Bills don't get support cause they aren't a perennial 14 game winner, but I doubt the Pats would get any better support either. Toronto just ain't a sports town except fort the Leafs, and even then, 2/3 of it are guys in suits who spend more time on their blackberries than watching the games

I was at the Seahawks/bills game in Toronto. It was my first NFL game. Though I had fun watching the hawks eviscerate the Bills 50-17, I really thought the atmosphere was missing.

That is why if in the event my seahawks play the giants or redskins, I'm going to make the trip from TO to NYC or DC to catch the game. I need to experience an NFL in America, and a playoff game for that matter!

I went to watch my Jaguars play the Steelers in the 2007 playoffs. Greatest experience ever, words can't describe NFL playoffs live.

I'm sure that it'll happen eventually, just as I think that the NFL will eventually put multiple teams in Europe, but not seeing it as a good idea for at least the very foreseeable future. Everything I've heard from fans up there and from friends that went there when the Bears played in Toronto, was that essentially none of the locals gave a **** at all.

Same goes with the games in London, except actual Londoners were more annoyed at it than anything.

Show you care about the Bills and then we'll give you your own team

Toronto just doesn't care for NFL
