lol - only old farts like myself remember watching THIS old hockey flick as a little kid (no, it isn't Slapshot ):
I'll take a look when I'm home.
Fortunately, I was able to procure two of my childhood favorites for Jr. to watch.
Mickey's Christmas Carol (all kinds of awesome)...
...and Jim Henson's "The Christmas Toy", my all-time favorite:
I had both of these growing up thanks to my parents taping them on a Christmas special aired in 1986. That VHS cassette lasted into the early 2000s. I have since bought the Christmas Toy on DVD (strangely, they cut Kermit the Frog as the narrator...) and I just PVR'd Mickey's Christmas Carol last week. Score.
I think I might be a little too young for all of those. I grew up on The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (with Boris Karloff), and Santa Claus is Coming to Town (clay-mation). Two of my faves for sure! The other clay-mation with Rudolph and the elf that wants to be a dentist is pretty good too.

Both the Grinch and Santa Claus is Coming to Town are older than the two I listed. I think they are both available on YouTube - if you are in the mood to watch some kids' Christmas classics, I highly reccomend them both.
The Burl Ives "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is a classic for me as well. For live action comedy, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is where it's at for me. The Santa Clause gets some views each year as well.

Yeah, my parents put those on for me when I was a kid at this time of year, I'm pretty sure they grew up on those too.
Christmas Vacation is hilarious. Considering I was watching the Caddyshack the other day, sounds like a good idea right now.
When I was a little boy (6?), I was at my Father's work Christmas Party... with my family - including brother and sister... with a gym full of children...
Santa was there... Called names out to go up, sit on his lap, take a picture, and get your present... Was getting towards the end, and I was starting to think I wasn't getting a present... My brother got one long ago... My sister got one long ago... They already unwrapped and were playing with their toys in front of me... I said to my Dad, "Dad, I don't think I'm getting a present"... My Dad said, "You're not... You were bad this year" (jokingly)... Sure enough, Santa says "ho, ho, ho... Santa has to go"... I didn't get called... I didn't get a present... They forgot to put my name on the list (my Mom checked Santa's list, my name wasn't on there)... I was pretty upset... I was bad and didn't get on Santa's list... My Dad was right... And yet, I was way better behaved then my brother ever was... Santa pulls out his wallet, and gives me money... Just wasn't the same... Santa didn't have a good answer as to why I didn't get a present... It's his list... How could he forget me? Mothers who all witnessed this hugged me, and gave me money to buy a present... With the money I got, we stopped off at the toy store after the party... I don't even remember what I chose...
For a few years after, the first thing I did was check the Christmas tree to see if Santa forgot...
My brother sings to me this (to this day):
Santa can go to hell, for all I care...
Merry Christmas everyone!

ya, but that's a bit of snow when A. You're not used to it. B. You're not prepared for it. and C. It's a completely different type of snow on the southern coast here versus what the interior of the province and the prairies gets.
I have no issues driving in the snow, but I much prefer to drive on the drier, non greasy snow that we get here...
Plus the lack of experience of people driving in it just compounds the issues.....ah...who am I kidding. It's still humorous hahaha...What's not humorous is the basketball sized chunks of ice falling off the Port Mann!
You're right. It's scary how many people get caught with their pants down, though. Every. Year! It snows once or twice at the very least every winter, it's not like it never happens. The time spent on swapping to winter tires is far less than the one wasted on skidding along icy streets because Vancouver is always unprepared for snow.

Yeah, takes me 10-15 minutes. Pretty easy. And I'm no blue-collar either.
Vancouver is a ***** show when it snows even a little bit. You guys are right that no one prepares for it but even then the drivers suck driving in it. Gotta say its pretty pathetic when Canadians can't drive properly in the snow!
I'd LOVE to see some Vancouverites try & get around with the snow levels we get in Whistler.
