Nyquist's wrist shot has lost a ton of pace, I am wondering if something is going on there.

Another overly cute play with Tatar and Smith playing I don't want to take the shot.

I don't think Smith will get a better opportunity all year than that.

Did Blashill switch Andersson and Sheahan?

EDIT: Pare with the EN dagger.

Do you mean Blashill? Yes they seemed to be switching the lines a decent amount there to protect the lead. Nestrasil and Jurco got benched for the home stretch.

I have been asking for Sheahan between the two new Eurotwins. We will see if they do it, seems this time they moved Tatar. But a lot of mixing and matching down the end.

Griffins win 4-2

Goals by Glendening, Hoggan, Andersson, Pare... Nyquist with 2 assists

Mrazek 21/23... played really solid

My bad I always get that mixed up. Yeah it may have just been more of a defensive move because Andersson played really well tonight.

Usually when somebody that normally shoots a lot stops shooting and just keeps passing in every shooting situations, has a minor hand injury.

The injury bothers him, and it becomes a confidence thing.

I am with you regarding Sheahan. I think the second line really needs to be tweaked at this point.

Still wonder if he banged shoulder more than we think after that early big hit. He didn't miss games and still put up some points after, but he really hasn't been shooting the same amount since.

He does a better job of driving lanes for me and has better speed to keep up with them. If Ferraro was bigger I could see that line, but I would like to try Sheahan in that role first because he brings the size and can be played as the high saftey man. I think Shehan is already the best center we have down there at playing the full 200 feet. Putting Ferraro there also takes one of our best forecheckers out of that role since Tatar and Gus usually forecheck and play the more advanced roles. Hoggan sits back and does that on the third line to free Ferraro. I just want to see it I think Sheahan's skating allows him to do more with the two new eurotwins while keeping a big body with them.

Do you think Sheahan is already better than Andersson?

I really do think he is already better across all zones and Andersson has some sort of penalty bug going on this year. I just like the fit better with Sheahan up there. I do think it is already close, Andersson is just a little more used to the pro game. However, Sheahan does a lot of the little things that really impress me, he is so good positionally and that has always been one of Andersson's strengths. So for me to already think he is slightly better in that department is saying something. I am just looking for a little more balance and chemistry, right now I think that is a tweak that could pay off.

Yeah they need to do something. I am shocked how little time they have spent in the offensive zone in the last three games. I think a good part of it has to do with where they start their shifts, but even then they should be able to accomplish more. They seem very of out sorts. It is time to change things up for a bit I think.

I don't, but Andersson is not a 1st line center by offensive standards either.

Sheahan's and Jurco's problem is that they're not yet coping with the pace you need in the offensive zone. They're not winning the board battle to keep a play alive, or they're overcautious making the right play. As a reflection they shoot the least out of the forwards in the top9. If you don't shoot, you don't score. I don't think Sheahan's gonna earn offensive minutes by playing defense. He's not even a regular on the 2nd PP unit. Start with splitting up Sheahan and Jurco I'd say, no matter the line.

Sheahan is cautious to a fault. I would consider moving him to the wing at some point, although his future is clearly as a center. Jurco just looks green to me, which is understandable given his age. Again, that line has spent so little time in the offensive zone the last couple of games that something needs to change.

Yeah Jurco isn't taking any chances at all, which by no means is a bad thing, but you have to take chances to score. The kid is just playing too careful right now. At least he's playing solid defensively and physically.

GR's offense is going to have to show up tonight. Playing Abbotsford who have the best defensive record in the league. Some skilled prospects like Baertschi too.

Well their offense is in a similar spiral. Horak and Baertschi have slowed down considerably. Kolanos is probably their biggest offensive threat right now. I am looking forward to seeing Baertschi play though.

I am guessing McCollum gets the call in goal tonight.
