I don't get why RNH hasn't gone yet. I don't feel that people are projecting ahead enough with these selections.

He'll be 35 playing on big ice. Marleau might still be better defensively, but RNH should blow him out of the water by 2014 offensively (he already is on par offensively as a rookie).

When it's arguable it's better to err with the younger / faster alternative. When you have that many skilled players, leadership is never going to be an issue. We're also giving young guys experience for future Olympics.

Even at 35, not many players are faster than Marleau.

I could be wrong but I thought most players lose a ton of their burst in their mid 30s (at least that's the case in other sports).

I guess we'll have to see what happens in the next 1-2 seasons.

Yeah I don't know how Lucic made it over Neal, RNH... All those guys really, except for Mackinnon. I'd put them all on Team Canada before taking Lucic.
