Huberdeau not playing. Serving last game of his suspension for his Q team.

Murphy falls down. Interesting fact: Since the game is in Finland, it's a 'hybrid' ice according to the commentators. Was in the other room so if someone wants to explain what that entails, please do.

Murphy trying to do it all himself and turns it over. PP over. First unit looked good, second unit not so much.

Penalty over. Finland pressured but didn't really get anything started. No touch icing.

I was distracted too and didn't hear when they said hybrid ice but I looked this up on line, I have seen it used on TV but never payed too much attention to it and this may not be what they have there?

Quote:
Synthetic ice create the perfect hybrid-ice® skating surface, bringing together the fun of skating with the affordability of an energy-save product. Without the need for expensive refrigeration units, generators, or electricity, and made from a recyclable, polymer compound, our rinks are the eco-friendly, low cost alternative to real ice.

A non-toxic, glide enhancer liquid is sprayed on to the surface to reduce the friction created by the blade. Heat created by the blade moving across the ice helps to release the glide enhancer to further simulate gliding action. The amount of glide enhancer used, the cleanliness of the rink surface and the sharpness of the blade, combine to create the optimum skating experience. The rinks feels 10-15% slower than skating on typical refrigerated ice, and feels much like skating on a frozen pond

You can tell there's a pretty big chemistry problem right now for Team Canada.

Not a huge issue considering it's their first game together, but they look pretty disorganized.

Ha, that's not what if is at all. Finish hybrid ice is halfway between Olympic and NHL sized ice. So slightly longer and wider than North Smerican surfaces.

Might also be jet lag but yeah they're a bit sloppy right now.

Strome gets hooking penalty.

Rielly can't even work his magic because of the penalties.

Third penalty for Canada.

This one is a minute behind.

I agree, LR. Sloppy game. RNH's line coming out for the first time in five minutes.

Has Canada even had a shot since the first 5 minutes of the game?

Canada looks brutal right now. Canada goes on the PP. 9 seconds left in the first.
