Terrible period. First period playing together. Not too worried.

Still, awful period for Canada.

poor start for Canada. Need a lot more aggressive forechecking and much better control of emotions. Finnish goalie wasn't tested a single time that I can remember in that period.

They will be in bigger ones. This is a hybrid ice surface.

Not to be the guy whining about the reffing and the Rattie slash was undisciplined on his part but that was blatant goaltender interference that got called the other way. MAYBE you could call both guys but Subban got smoked after the Finn in front got tapped by Harrington (the first time). Sick snipe by Granlund though that was an NHL caliber one timer.

The guy who missed the net after Teravainen gave him unreal pass needs to be moved out of that second line, you just can't waste that kinda feed.

Kind of a hard period to get a read on due to all the penalties.

Thought Danault and Ritchie were two of Canada's best forwards, while Rielly clearly had trouble on the blueline. Frustrating to not see RNH et al on the ice very much as the team killed penalties.

Armia really stood out for Finland to me. Great pass on Granlund's goal, and did some really nice work in the corners and on the boards.

Hopefully the 2nd period will develop some flow so the talent can start to reveal itself more.

The speed, passing and hitting is more INTENSE in this world juniors exhibition game than in a regular KHL game (having seen about a dozen KHL games myself this season)... thus more entertaining here!!! (though admittedly the individual creativity, dipsy doodlin' and shooting in the KHL is superior.

Reffing hasn't been that bad, Canada just needs to be more disciplined. Gotta realize they're not playing in the CHL anymore and adjust accordingly. Thats what these pre tournament games are for.

Man how I love online streaming...

FirstRow and CoolSportz say server not found
Atdhe has these un-closeable ads that just sit in front of the screen
And that Watch TSN link someone posted just kept loading and loading countless more ads

I know it's just me or my work computer/server since others are streaming, just soooooooo damn frustrating.

Sounds like I didn't miss much in the 1st though. LOL

Strome and Mackinnon killing penalties... Now there's something you would never have seen on previous Team Canada's.

None of those penalties were ones they wouldn't call over here. Some were borderline but all were penalties. Canada needs to be more disciplined, there was no reason Harrington had to crosscheck that guy, just stupid.

No one has. Only real bad thing Rielly did was falling down and turning it over but I can't blame him for that, this ice looks terrible, surprised more players aren't falling down.

the slash was week but the hooking by Strome was pretty obvious, no worries that was probably more adjusting to big ice (even though this is a hybrid ice) cuz it looked like Strome got caught flat footed there and clearly hooked the Finnish player. Just need to be more disciplined though

Forecheck AND passing through the neutral zone. There is NO offensive chemistry by Team Canada.

Losing to Finland isn't as alarming to me as losing to Finland minus 4 key players.

looks like these numbers are messed up.

I doubt there are two #23 out there (Haapala is maybe #24)
more importantly, Teuvo T. is certainly #19.
Also, J.Ikonen is #61, and there are more i think...
Järveläinen may be #45.

Ikonen has tremendous skill out there, apparently he has hockey sense and production to match. That is the sort of late 1st rounder I would select.

Seems to be the only guy moving his feet for Canada. Not impressed with Ouellet, Rielly, Murphy (expected) on Canada's blueline. Ryan Murray will really be missed because I don't see any "human erasers" on this team.
