I've noticed him, and not for good reasons.

No kidding. He will always be scrutinized because no one expected him to make the team. He is the easy target.

One can only wish...although i'm not going to bad mouth HC at all, at least they selected Drouin and Mackinnon.

On another note I'm pretty sure RNH has set up Rattie in the slot at least 3-4 times, man he's got to bury.

Also Canada is getting dominated in the faceoff circle.

Looks like MacKinnon is back with Camara and Daneault, with Lipon up on a line with Drouin and Strome. Must be a record, 5 minutes without a penalty.

He's been pretty good. I thought he was holding on to the puck too long in the first period but he seems to be making quicker decisions this period and not trying to do as much on his own.

Canada is really soft on the back end, would have liked to see someone like Duncan Siemens get a look in camp. Oh well, too late now.

no doubt...for sure he's looking a bit tentative but he's improved as the game has gone on

as "bad" as he's been, none of his mistakes have resulted in goals, and he hasn't taken a penalty...

Offensively he was our most gifted Dman before the team was even selected.

Question is whether or not he can avoid the "d'oh" moments defensively. If he can he could easily be our best dman.

Rielly is playing passive, which is NOT his game. Probably nerves. His game is all about rhythm and he doesn't have it right now.

He needs to get involved in a nice rush and have something go well before he turns it on.

RNH, Hudon, MacKinnon have been the best forwards on the ice IMO. Drouin and Scheifele have been pretty good as well.

Two Finnish goals were both on a 5 on 3 PP. I'm not too worried about the team...discipline will be embedded in their brains by the coaching staff.

Positives so far - Armia & Granlund playing well, shooting the puck, penalty killing,
with some players missing we're giving a good tough match

Negatives - Faceoffs, penalties taken, fell asleep defensively at the start of 2nd

The biggest problem is their inconsistency during games and far too many suffer from a Napoleon-complex. They tried bringing in zero tolerance hockey some years ago but hte coaches complained too much so the refereeing officials caved. Now there's no clear line at all, evident in some international games (where they call more stuff) when Finnish league players take stupid hooking/obstruction penalties.

Better period for the Canadians. Interesting how the refs put the whistles away once the Finns start getting shady when it comes to the penalties. It has gone both ways to an extent though I'll acknowledge that. Rattie is done on the first line, guys missed a ton of glorious chances set up by RNH. Defense looks very soft, not impressed with Ouellet or Rielly. Starting to see why Hudon is loved by HC - very versatile. I can also see why he was a 5th rounder though because I'm not sure how his game will translate to the next level.

I'm sure if Ritchie can't go Spott will bring in a 5'8'' scoring dynamo.
