I'm going to say ADR. He had two very forgettable reigns last year as champion and was never really that impressive. Actually, it's weird to think that he was the last WWE Champion since Punk's current reign.

Yeah, that reign was crap but Backlund did hold the title for about 4 consectutive years in the late 70's/early 80's.

Wait, Jeff Hardy was champion?

They really need to rid the World Title, especially with the brand split basically gone. That title really killed the relevance of the IC and US Belt.

They waited too long for Del Rio. Not that I really blame them. Christian winning at Extreme Rules was a given, as was letting a red hot R-Truth and post-shoot Punk get in the title picture before he did. But Del Rio didn't change while everyone around him was heating up, and by the time he cashed in no one cared anymore.

He was the same heel that beat Rey Mysterio a year and a half before, while the other heels around him had been evolving and became more interesting.

Has to be Vince. Absolutely has to be Vince. I could never say Backland because he was the man in the organization so long.

I'd like to see a new thread for WHC, too. Minus WCW days, because we know Arquette wins that one hands down.

For the WHC, Khali was terrible and never should have been given the belt, but I'd also like to add Swagger's 2010 WHC reign to the conversation. It should have been his catapult into superstardom but it was very forgettable and his WWE career has taken a nosedive ever since.

I guess I'd say that Khali was the worst WHC champ but Swagger was the most disappointing.

Swagger WAS stealing the show some nights with his promos regarding all of his accolades. He was really getting over. The problem is... he never took it to a different level. He just stayed the same. He could have done that same gimmick with the US title and it would have paid off better.

If I look at this in terms of believability, then Mysterio has to be the worst.

It depends on what metrics you want to use as your measures, as I'm sure we all have slightly different criteria when it comes to this.

Edit: oops, this is WWE champion.... aside from Vince, I keep thinking Diesel, but I'd have to give it more thought

Totally agreed. His title reign should have meant a lot more but he became pretty irrelevant after it was over. I just remember being so excited when he cashed in on Jericho and then relieved when he dropped the belt (although I wasn't too thrilled that it was Mysterio that beat him).

Can't believe people are saying Hardy and Mysterio here. When I look at their careers.. I expect them both to have a title reign. They gave a lot of great moments. It might not have happened during their title reigns, but the OP isn't asking who had the worst reign. It's asking who was the worst WWF Champ ever. (Unless i'm interpreting incorrectly)

Those 2 deserve to be champs. Vince... not so much. I don't care if he owns it or not. He was a guy that should have played a specific role and not champion.

"Won" the title in a non-existent tournament in the 60s, title reign only lasted three weeks.

Honorable mention goes to Yokozuna, whose only title reign lasted 22 seconds in Wrestlemania 9.

If his "only" title reign was at Wrestlemania 9, How did Bret beat him for the title at Wrestlemania 10?
but yes both of his reigns were not very memorable. Perhaps it is a testament to how bad he was that his 22 second reign is more memorable than his 280 day reign.
