Wow, Oleksiak doing man things...you don't see that kind of fustigation out of him too much...Petrovic is no push over either...

All of my concerns about Oleksiak are basically gone. He's going to be a good one, that's all there is to it.

Nilstorp again. Should put it away with only 15 seconds left. Great stuff from him. Defense has done well as well when rebounds have been produced.

Taking an ill-advised shot from a bad angle and the puck going out of the zone? Yep that's Jon Sim.

Great win for the Stars with our prospects leading the way. Nilstorp was impressive in his own right.

Nihlstorp saved this one for the Stars in the 3rd period, but there was alot of great work out there by the entire team.

Gotta say, when I saw Toby Petersen head out there to start the 2 man PK....

Amazing we got through that one.

I would like to see Oleksiak flash that physicality more often. The big hit more than the fighting.

Texas keeps winning with Chiasson and R.Smith continue to put up points. Can't ask for anything better really.

Really good team defense tonight. They got a little crossed-up late when the Rampage came with numbers later on and started getting a little more creative with their puck movement, but they held their own. Limited the Rampage to 11 shots through 2, and there wasn't a ton of danger leading up to that 2-man advantage (an avoidable one at that) in the 3rd.

I thought Petersen looked pretty quick tonight, if nothing else. Good game from Oleksiak and Eakin, I thought they were both pretty impressive. Vincour as well, as his work along the boards continues to impress.

Like the announcers said, Stars played it like a road game. Not a big, ra-ra, energy game from them, passive forecheck, hit'em at the entry, collapse to the net, simple, positional breakout into a cycle. Worked well for them through 50 minutes, then they withstood the onslaught. Looked like the Rampage had a sure goal with about 2 or 3 minutes left, but somehow it didn't go. Good for Texas.

Was looking at the Texas Stars site for some highlight videos and stumbled upon this:

That Smith deke and shot at the 20 second mark is seriously sick. Can't wait to see what he can do at the NHL level, the skill is obviously there.

I don't want to get over-excited about Oleksiak's hit and subsequent fight without seeing him play more, but that isolated incident makes me happy as a Stars fan. Big man doling out big hit and an ass kicking. If he can bring that and solid defensive play with him to the NHL we will have an added dimension we've been lacking for a while.

I found a pretty decent stream and watched the majority of the game. Not only was that fight friggin' awesome but Oleksiak had a solid to very solid all around game. It made my hockey pants go quite crazy.

I watched the Oleksiak fight on my first break this morning. I let out a quite audible "holy ****."

Wow! Now that was slick. I hadn't seen that highlight before. Almost every game now he is doing something impressive like that. The backhander wednesday night was pretty nice.
