So obviously some politics involved here likely.
The hole camp seemed very fake as I personally thought Wotherspoon or Murphy should have lost their spot to Corrado as he was the best defenseman for the first two games at the camp.

Really, Reilly? Reilly is a top 4 defenseman in these kinds of tournaments. Besides, he was paired with Hamilton, which means it wouldn't let him play his game.

Binnington's resume is IDENTICAL to Brossoit's, difference is he won a memorial cup, Brossoit didnt
Patterson also had a better camp than Brossoit. He was PERFECT

Outside of four good games in the memorial cup Binnington has struggled in post season play, whereas Brossoit has flourished.

Does Jordan Binnington play on "big" ice surface with Owen Sound? I'm not sure where I heard this, but if true, maybe this was another factor?

I believe he also shut them out. I think it is clear that Spott didn't intended to take Brossiot, its nice they gave him an invite but why invite him if the camp doesn't matter?

Yeah, Mackenzie did say something along those lines. Just one of those cases where not everything you read from these guys is 100% accurate.
And yes, Brossoit did struggle in the game during the summer but either way it is a good indication that he was viewed to be ahead of Binnington at that time. Maybe that performance did hurt his chances, but that would seem unlikely considering he squashed those concerns during the SSS.
At the end of the day I think the decision was based on familiarity. It is not the end of the world but it may end up hurting HC moving forward if Subbans struggles continue.
Finland beats the USA 5-1 with Markus Granlund putting up a goal. Also, it looks like Sieloff didn't play today. Reffing was absolutely horrible. I remember one call which was Seth Jones got called for slashing, even though he barely tapped the other players stick.
In the 3rd period, USA played extremely slow and didn't look up to par with Finland, hence why Finland scored 4 goals in the 3rd.
Markus Granlund was chosen the best player for Finland today in the FIN-USA game.
Thats great. I missed the game today, but from my observations against Canada he was Finland's best player then too. It's nice getting an opportunity to view Granlund on a regular basis... It's difficult to catch him in Canada.
Wotherspoon with a good game all around, it just seemed like he got better as the game went on. I noticed he started getting more ice time towards the end of the game and he didn't disappoint with a nice finish to make it 9-3.
I didn't get the chance to watch Finland play but I saw that Granlund got a goal as well which is pretty nice. Now we wait for Gaudreau to tear it up tommorow against the Germans
