Nope. Completely different roles they were going out for. Plus Drouin is already probably a better player despite being years younger.

Wikstrand's PP unit will be better with Lindholm dictating play later on.

This kid has got the goods! One game, but I'm fully ready to vault this kid to near the top of our prospect pool.

Murray does it again with another late round steal!!!!

I've never understood the mentality that people should cheer for the country they happen to be from.

Most people don't get to choose where they are born. If you don't have a choice in something, what is there to be proud of?

Nationalism is silly. Saying I'm Canadian is as relevant to me as saying I have a certain colour hair, or am of a certain height, or was born on a certain date. I don't cheer for people just because they have same same hair colour, or are my height, or were born on the same day as me. And I don't necessarily cheer for people born in the same place as me, either. "Canadian" is a description of what I am. It's not who I am.

How I feel to a T. Hell, I might have more in common with some dude from Russia than I do with someone from Florida.

well, i think associating yourself with a great country like canada is something canadians should do. you're lucky to be born here, where the state gives you so many freedoms, allowing you to be who you are. where you're from can have a big impact on your life and who you are, you know.

Not everyone who lives in Canada is FROM Canada...

Also, I live near Montreal... Do I have to be a Habs fan or can I continue to cheer for the Sens?

This. I love my original country to death but when it comes to sports, I can cheer for any team I like the most (for example I rooted for Germany in the 1990 World Cup). I have been rooting for Sweden in hockey since Alfredsson.

It's part of your identity...you can be proud of something that you are not in control of, just like you can be ashamed of something you aren't. I've talkin to several Americans that are ashamed of their country.

Your father can **** your neighbor and go to jail for it and humiliate the family. You had no control over this, but you'll be ashamed.

Personally, I don't really care who wins the tournament. Most of the hockey games I watch I don't care who wins though. No one understands how I can still be fully engaged in a 10-1 game.

Agreed, you can choose be proud of it if you like, that's entirely true, and I have no problem with people making that decision, but I don't think it should be expected of people.

And yes, I'm cheering for Sweden because of Wikstrand. Why? Because with him being a Sens prospect, and I being a Sens fan, I have a personal connection to him, which is more than I can say for any others in the tournament.

BTW, great to see so many of us on the same page!

Yes, exactly.

Choice is a beautiful thing.

Criticism, not so much. To each their own. Do your thing, just try and do it well.

Pretty interested to continue to watch Wikstrand. Figured he'd look good having earned the PP duty and playing as he has this year. But he did exceed my expectations, which was a pleasant surprise.

As European soccer (football) fans say.

Club > Country

I'd much rather cheer for Sens prospects much more than Team Canada in the WJC.

I understand that. I'm obviously cheering for the Sens' prospects too (want them to do well), but not the team they play for.

Also, if you're not from Canada, I suppose that's understandable too... Heck, I wasn't born in Canada either, but that country does not play hockey so no conflict there.

To each their own, I suppose. I was just stating my feelings on that; I wasn't trying to impose them on you guys.

Jacob Trouba is an absolute beast. He's a physically dominating defenceman.

USA just got ripped off. Beauty snipe by Grimaldi doesn't count because they don't have video review in Finland.

eh, theres video review in Finland just not for pre-tournament games apparently

Wikstrand on the First Powerplay.

The play is also centering around him at the moment. He's touching the puck more than anyone else on the PP.

-PP goal for Sweden on an incredibly weak Canadian PK. They were running around with their heads cut off.

-Wikstrand takes a Penalty, TSN broadcasters start talking about Ottawa and Sweden, then Ferraro starts talking about how amazing Karlsson is

-What's wrong with Dougie Hamilton? He's made bad decision after bad decision.

-Now Danault with a ridiculously dirty hit from behind.

-Playing too fancy.

Canada needs to pick it up, they look very average out there for a team full of so many stars.

Is Ryan Murphy the same ****ing player he was two years ago? Like skill, size, ability, etc.???

He could have arguably made this team at 17, he was good enough at the camp at 17 but they chose not to, they already had Ellis. So far he looks like a fringe player at this level, a PP specialist if at all, like he would have two years ago.

This comes off like Angelo Esposito so far.

I agree completely, its like his confidence was shot and just looks scared to make a play, just looks average.

I have no idea how he got player of the game in the last game.
