Why are you asking in a team Canada thread?

Didn't see the game but heard that he was impressive though he apparently looked as though he was holding back.

Interesting game.

Refs missed a hand pass on Canada's only goal...

I'm going to call this a Swedish win.

Seems to me the biggest challenge for Canada is going to be keeping out of the box. It sure makes shutting down a top line easy when they're sitting on the bench cold for a large portion of the game.

they played 20-21 minutes in regulation it's not like it hurt there ice-time in this game.

A chance to use the two 17 year olds together on 4-on-4 in OT.. Instead you use Danault. Coaching does not seem a bright spot for this team. Why I expect Subban to start despite Binnington clearly being the better of the two in recent weeks.

Spots needs to remove his blinders. I was actually surprised he picked 2 17 year olds on the team to only make them play a combination on 18 minutes in today's game. Drouin and mackinnon deserve more ice time but spot is blind. I was wrong in thinking drouin shouldn't be on this team but clearly should be playing a little more and so should macinnon.

Weird. I thought he looked like Sweden's best defenseman on the day.

As an oiler fan who saw a lot of rnh last year, I was actually disappointed. He just didn't look like he was trying too hard unless he was in the offensive zone. Breaking out down the ice he didn't have much Center support and didnt look like he wanted the puck. I know this is just pre-competition play and he hasn't played in awhile but I know he can do a lot more.

People got to remember this is an evaluation period.

That being said, Hamilton has been garbage on the powerplay for 2 straight game. He's really showing why the Pietrangelo comparison was pretty bad, and why stats don't tell the true story. I don't like having 2 QBs on one powerplay, but when Murphy and Rielly were on the points together it looked the best. Rielly didn't look like a lost puppy and everyone knows how well Murphy runs a powerplay.

I wouldn't be too worried about ice time. But don't expect MacKinnon to get over 17 minutes.

No doubt, MacKinnon is a world class talent and will be a great player--I expect next year in this tournament for him to be an impact player.

I understand but in today's game where they only had 10 players why didn't Mackinnon get more than 6 minutes?? Spot is slow. He has his opinion and goes with it right or wrong. He does not know how to adapt to situations. We will see.

Tough day for SWE. Lost Jesper Pettersson to injury on Jenner hit. Highly touted F Elias Lindholm didn't finish game. No word on that yet.

yikes for sweden

I'm pretty sure the European guys in charge will suspend Jenner for the tournament. This is a chance to stick it to North Americans.

I wonder if team Canada will call a replacement??? Who?? Wilson? Monahan??
