This is one of my favorites. I never had any respect for the Sedin's but after he got up and back in the game shortly after the hit my opinion change. Hell of a hit. Jumped out of my seat and screamed like a little girl when it happened.

Joking? You don't watch much hockey if that's the best you've ever seen.

First of all, he doesn't "fly 25 feet" like the homer announcer says.

Secondly, the only reason he "flies" at all is because of the skater who came up behind him and clipped him just a bit while he was getting hit.

I dont know why, but this hit is one of my favourites. Might not be the greatest but still pretty good.

That hit was impressive just for how odd it was for Paille to go flying like that, but I've definitely seen better. It's not even Orpik's best from last season.

first two that come to mind are Wendell Clark's on ???, where he just steam rolls the guy behind the goalie.

the other would be Scott Stevens on Kariya. The definition of getting leveled at full force.

Great minds amigo. First thought I had on this thread was about this one hit in particular. The smashee was Bruce Bell.

(Anyone else remember the old Global logo on the top left of this highlight?lol)

A significant car crash level IMO.

I honestly thought Boychuk died form that. I'm amazed he got up and skated away. I think he missed 3 games at most if any. I don't fully remember, though.

I'd love to see more "back hits" like Subban's, you can feel the hurt through the screen!

One was a perfectly clean hit with the target getting back up right after, the other was a cheapshot that caused a concussion and was punished by a 5 minutes major and a 5 game suspension. Come again?

Terrible quality, but a big hit. Mainly because it's Bouillon on Ovechkin.

Scott Stevens was the man to be feared.

Here is his top ten (sorry if some have been posted)

So that's why the NHL used Stevens as an example of how to cleanly deliver a big hit...

That Marchand on Malkin "hit" doesn't belong anywhere near this thread. It's weaksauce. Probably not even the most spectacular hit of that period of hockey, much less deserving to be here.

My favorite part is Chara skating over to start something and Neil being like "can you gimme a minute here?"

This is the hardest hit I've ever seen. The Sarich one may look hard because the guy spun around and went flying, but this is two huge bodies that just collide into each other straight on that sends them both just straight to the ice. Felt bad for Boychuk when I saw it but I was even cheering seeing a perfect hit like that.
