No problem. In his defense he was referring to Sweedish food as that's where he is now. I definitely did not like the food during my time in Europe. Also keep in mind that I'm probably the pickiest guy on the planet. The only place that I really enjoyed the food while I was there was Italy. German food definitely did not agree with me though.

It's impossible to not like the food in Italy.

I have to disagree. I'd say about 40% of the places we went to served us underwhelming food. And we ate out every night.

Then you didn't go to the right places(or are used to Americanized Italian food). The best food in Italy is found in small mom and pop places.

Well, ofcourse the food was eatable, but compared to what he was used to in here, he describe it pretty bad.

Have to agree. Recently returned from trip to Italy, and i really enjoyed the food there. Or it tasted better because i was happy about the weather there

That's a pretty huge jump, even if it's just for the tourney. They are currently getting help from NHL'ers Dennis Seidenberg and Marcel Goc (both coming to the NHL from Mannheim) and Jason Pominville (Sabres), and they are a serious contender in the German Elite Leauge DEL.

The games should be televised due to the tourney's historically perceived meaning. I don't care for it, at all, so I most likely won't bother. Team Canada's lineup for the games is stacked though, so they are the obvious favourites. If one wants to follow this, there should be streams available.

Yeah, it was the 40th minute, but the Coventry fans stood in appreciation for Matt Beleskey in his last game for the club last night, and then he scored a penalty shot, along with the ENG, to beat Sheffield.

Fantastic player for the Blaze. Never took a single shift off. He easily could have come over here and waltzed it, like Stewart or Sestito did, but the guy was a demon.

Will be sorely missed!

Great to hear that. Wouldn't expect anything less from Beleskey.

I think it may have something to do with the lockout possibly being done, but Matt was also only on a 3 month visa, and because he came over here in mid-October, he would have to leave the country in order for him to re-apply.

Thanks. Sounds like legal issues more than anything else. If the NHL cancels the season is there any reason he couldn't re-apply for a visa and go back?

There are several players leaving their teams to come back. I think Spezza and a few others have been trickling back in anticipation of a new CBA.

I think many of us over here will be crossing our fingers and hoping that's the case. 33 points (12+21) in 26 games. Pretty much playing 30 minutes a night. The kid will be in shape for camp that's for sure.

I'm not holding my breath, but it's guys like him who could hit the ground running if the NHL starts up again. While I don't think he will ever become a top 6 guy, this experience could help him become a more solid third liner. Maybe put up Cogliano numbers with a lot more grit?

Great to hear about Beleskey's success. Hopefully he got some confidence with the experience. I would be happy if he could get like 10+ goals per season (depending on which line he plays of course and I'm thinking bottom 6 right now).

With the season being saved and players coming back, how has our players looked over seas? Mainly talking about Fowler and Sbisa, and if they've improved their play.

I'm late to reply to this but yeah that's what I noticed. We were staying in Minori for 5 days and we found this little restaurant kind of tucked away in the town. One dinner later and we ate there every afternoon and night. The garlic linguini with clams was excellent.
