My current 3rd line is Chimera - Marchand - Armstrong, and i'm really looking to change those wingers for somebody else, any suggestions? Perhaps the other one could be a good 3rd line scorer and the other a hard hitter.

So, Jason Demers locks out on me, so I had to trade Dan Boyle for a goaltender (I think it was Halak) to get rid of cap. Then he wanted 4.5million dollars. I was short on defensemen, so I had to accept. This was yr 1 offseason.

Armstrong to 4th line.
Ultimate 3rd line banger = Clutterbuck.
3rd line scorer with good D = Clarkson. Other options: Cleary, Downie, Ott, Upshall, Smyth, Fedotenko, Foligno, Malone, Joel Ward, Higgins.
Depends on how much you want to spend...

Larose is another good third liner, low to mid 80s in pretty much everything, good for 20-35 points. Tyler Ennis doesn't have huge trade value but is a solid 2nd or 3rd line SNP.

I've had Ennis get as high as 84 overall with all very 80s-90s in shooting, puck skills, senses, and skating. If he ever developed physically in the game, his rating would probably be around 87-88.

Larose... good call... Ennis is too soft for my 3rd line. 2nd ok.

First 2 months(up to December 1st) done. We sit in 3rd in the Eastern Conference with 24 points, we have a record of 11-9-2(11-11). We have a very weak division with Boston right behind us with 23 points. Unbelieveably underrated Mike Riberio, (who I see preforms on any line in any GM mode for anyone all the time) leads are team in points with 22 in 22 games. He was playing on the 2nd line LW for most of the begining of the season but I moved him to the first line LW and now RW. I have my top 6 right now as Heater - Thorton - Riberio | Havlat - Cammy - Hemmer. Thorton has 18 points in 22 games, I need more from him.. Especially if we want to contend for the cup. Pick it up Big Joe! I thought I'd have a little bit of trouble scoring this year but I have a bunch of scoreres 85+ who should get it done. Most games I find are 2-1 losses ect and Lundy is holding us in there. Lundy is 10-10 but he is #7 in GAA and SV% in the league right now. Meanwhile Carle and Hainsey are scoring for us on Defence with 10 points(in 22 games).

More to come as we struggle through these tough times.

And it continues.... We cannot freakin' score. We had a good little strech there of 3 in a row after I made a trade for Mark Streit(traded a 2nd and Spacek, who I picked up off waivers off L.A. earlier in the week). J. Thorton leads are team with 33PTS in 36 games, with Riberio having 30 in 36. No point a game players. Streit leads with 21PTS of Defence. Our record is 15-18-3(15-21), we're 2 points back from the Sabres who are in 3rd in the East with 35PTS. We're really 11th in the East though. IDK man, I simply can't do GM's. I usually quit out early as I can't freakin' take GOOD teams that CAN'T SCORE. I
ve tried everything. I have Vrbata and Hemsky on the 3rd line trying to spread out of the offence and that doesn't frickin' do anything. I just do not know..... Any suggestion would help.

That's actually a pretty realistic all star lineup, usually there are guys that have no business being there.

Newest Oiler eases fan whining

Early in the season Edmonton Oiler GM Oscar Acosta traded Oiler fan favorite Ales Hemsky along with Nick Schultz and a 2013 2nd round pick to the Colorado Avalanche for Erik Johnson. Fans in Edmonton were incensed as they felt Hemsky alone should garner Sidney Crosby.

In his first game as an Oiler in the battle of Alberta, Johnson shut the criers up by scoring 6 goals and adding an assist. Trying to reach Colorado GM for comment this reporter was informed he hung himself with an old leather belt in his basement after watching Sportscenter.

Johnson's performance still has him trailing Oiler superstar Theo Peckham in goals at 7-6 in the Maurice Richard race.

Cruel twist of fate to winless Avalanche

In the first game since the Hemsky/Johnson trade between the Oilers and Avalanche, Ales Hemsky is out for an indisclosed period of time as Oilers resident idiot Ben Eager drove him into the boards with a late hit, sending the newest Avs acquisition to the dressing room.

Erik Johnson fared much better snapping home another two goals in his recent 8 goal tear since joining the Oilers. Ryan Whitney had a nine point night from the point, all assists so nobody really cared as Sam Gagner got 8 last year and threw a few in the net himself, without relying on his team to do the job.

Devan Dubnyk once again proved why he is the worst goalie in the NHL allowing 3 goals on 5 shots in an 11-3 Oilers win.

Yeah, it's not bad, although seeing guys like St. Louis, Stamkos, Ovechkin, the Sedins, etc. not make it, despite having superior stats to many of the players who did, seems strange.

Key players who didn't make it:
H. Sedin (49 points)
D. Sedin (47 points)
Zetterberg (47 points, league leader in assists)
St. Louis (46 points)
Lupul (46 points, although TOR had plenty of reps already)
Vrbata (46 points)
E. Kane (45 points)
Stamkos (45 points, league leader in goals)
Ovechkin (42 points, 3rd in goals)
Kyle Quincey (32 points, 2nd in defenseman scoring)
Brian Campbell (31 points, 3rd in defenseman scoring)
Erik Karlsson (31 points, 3rd in defenseman scoring)
Dion Phaneuf (30 points, 5th in defenseman scoring)
John Carlson (28 points, 1st in defenseman +/-)

Best line in the league has only 1 representative: Sergei Kostitsyn, Craig Smith, and Alexander Radulov. Average: 33 combined even-strength goals, each is +27 ...

I'm just going off the theory that they declined the invitation

PROSPAL NAMED ALL-STAR GAME MVP
January 28, 2014

Columbus Blue Jackets All-Star forward Vinny Prospal took home the prestigious All-Star MVP award last night after netting himself a hat trick and playing a major role in the 5-4 shootout victory for the Western Conference.

Sergei Bobrovsky also displayed a solid performance, stopping all 19 shots he faced in the 3rd period and overtime en route to being named the 3rd star of the game. Although he made just a single save in the shootout, it was enough to lift his team to victory as the West pumped all 3 of their shootout attempts past the East's James Reimer.

Sidney Crosby, who scored twice and added another helper to go along with a goal in the shootout, took home the game's 2nd star honours.

After a long and unsatisfying season to say the least I made lots of moves in the off-season.

I finished with the 3rd overall pick, and wanted to try and get Drouin and thought I might not be able to at #3 so I traded for L.A's 2nd overall pick and got Drouin. And with my pick at #3 I snagged Seth Jones! Drouin had 4-1/2 Gold stars and Jones had 4-1/2 Green stars! I traded Cammalerri, Vrbata and a few 5th Round and higher picks for L.A's pick. Lots of players of mine dropped in Overalls like Cammy and Havlat from 85's to 84's, Vrbata from 82 to 80, Hemsky from 83 to 82 and Michalek from 86 to 85. That Michalek dropping really hurt, he was supposed to be my #2 Defenceman. Well, thank goodness I've got a great defensive crop coming up. I could make that move for the the #2 pick becuase Huberdeau jumped all the way to 85 Overall and Galchenyuk jumped to 83 Overall(still with his Green stars) and they have great offensive stats with nice speed and decent checking.

Here's the INS and OUTS of this off-season:

INS:

Drouin
Jones
D. Morris
Auld
Dansk
Comeau
Richardson

Outs:

Cammalerri
Vrbata
Hedberg
S. Thorton

My line-up now shakes up to be:

Huberdeau(85OVR) - Thorton(88OVR|C) - Galchenyuk(83OVR)
Heatley(85OVR) - Ribeiro(82OVR|A) - Havlat(84OVR)
Comeau(79OVR) - Fisher(81OVR) - Hemsky(82OVR)
Richardson(76OVR) - Fiddler(74OVR) - Torres(75OVR)

Carle(86OVR) - Z. Michalek(85OVR)
Streit(84OVR) - Hainsey(84OVR|A)
Liles(82OVR) - Morris(82OVR)

Lundqvist(91OVR) - Auld(77OVR)

I've decided to strip the 'A' off of Carle and Michalek and put them on Ribeiro and Hainsey based mainly on how much experience and leadership they have/and will have. And, also Carle and Michalek will most likely be traded/bumped down in the near future with all these young stud defenceman coming up.

Havn't talked about my AHL team, the Binghamton Senators yet. They made it to the playoffs last year, Round 1 knock-out though. This year we will have such players as: Scheifele(81OVR) and Murray(75OVR). We will also have all our top potential goalies in the A. (Campbell, Subban, Gibson, Dansk). Last year I just started Campbell the whole year but I might split it this year. I also had alot more potential prospects playing last year like Grigerenko, Reinhart, Pouliot ect but for some reason they're in the CHL this year. :S

Well, let's HOPE for a better year this year. I am atleast hoping for the playoffs this year, to be honest.

WISH US LUCK!!!!

If you're playing 20 minute periods on superstar I can see these scores happening, as superstar is challenging but you can still bury some goals(especially in an hour of playing) but if you're doing 4-6 minute periods...

I have always wanted to play a full hour long game, just to see what scores would come up.
