And did he play better today than he did on Thursday?

Well, Reilly, like RNH hasn't played a whole lot because of all the penalties we've got. Its hard for them to get going when their momentum is killed by all the penalty kills in which they don't get any ice time. I'm not worried.

The pretty hockey fans will love it though, sure glad Morrison is our head scout, Biggs, Devane, Broll would not stand there watching had this happened on their watch. This was a low point for Leafs fans, too bad Belak had to wait until NJ visited Toronto to get some sort of retort. But far too late IMO.
I remember watching that game live. I have never been more disgusted watching the Leafs than in that moment. When an injured Darcy Tucker is the only one who took issue with the hit, it says everything you need to know about the rest of the team. Should have gutted it the very next day, those guys weren't going to win anything. Sure enough, they didn't.

Reilly I think stands alright. Although he hasn't done anything spectacular, he hasn't done anything wrong either. Canada keeps taking penalties too which really hampers his playing time.

Thanks

At least he isnt taking stupid penalties.....the German game should be a easy win, hopefully its a confident booster for Rielly and the whole team, then again the German game is not a guarantee easy win

Only caught the recap.

Nice hit by Jenner. Sort of. Bit late.

Why does a guy with two good legs need to get carried off the ice?

He only had a dislocated shoulder and a broken wrist.

He needs to watch Monty Python to learn what a true warrior is made of.

For all that are worried about Rielly, I don't think the Habs fans are doing any cartwheels after Gally's first game against the Finns, too many blind passes, kid's got to keep it simple. But he has yet to play well for Team USA going back to the summer camp. Not a huge surprise.

States are impressive too. Grimaldi, miller and gaudreau is a dangerous line, albeit a little small. Galchenyuk on the second is very good too. Plus their defense is great.

Canada has been looked at to death and likely has the best depth of any team.

Russia could be the most talented and might match canadas top line or close to it. Their defense is iffy though.

swedens team is strong as well, particularly on offense.

Its going to be a hell of a tourney
I might root for the Russians if Canada is out, infact if Rielly is not playing I might root for the USA and Russians. Canada does not look like a gold medal winner thus far, I used to like Spott, but right now I am questioning a lot of his decisions that make me not want to root for him.

Jenner laid him out. Ya it was late but wow. Jenner will be back from his suspension long before that kid can tie his own skates again.

Couple more days and the games matter. So enough screwing around. Time to play Rielly and play him lots.

I will and when I do, I will say he did if he did indeed play well. But as I have learned here, I don't believe all the comments and analysis until I see it for my own eyes. I have good reason to take this approach after reading the comments on players here in my 2 years here.

Nap from midnight until game time, watch game, sleep some more after. Wouldn't be surprised if I don't nap much before though since my sleep sched is ****ed and I will be excited.

I wish. I've been working afternoons for 2 years now. I usually go to bed between 3-4am.

I hope a nap around midnight will work. Either that or coffee around 3am.

I'm a little disappointed with Rielly's showing so far, he can definitely do much better... Filip Forsberg looks like a gem! How he slipped so far I will never know.

I really liked Trouba's game, despite the lopsided score. Kid is big and mean.

Nuge and Hube are the two godliest prospects on Team Canada.

They need to start scoring.

No time to **** around with the Division Canada is in.

I expect nothing less than a 6-1 win over Germany.

Individually he made the most obvious physical impact yesterday.

I think they mentioned Jet fans are going to be salivating over him.

The tournament hasn't started yet so Rielly still has a chance to live up to some of the hype.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

"Boone is an aggressive player, he was in hard on the forecheck, he made contact shoulder to shoulder," said Spott. "You can argue that it was late, the puck wasn't there, [so it could have been called] interference, maybe a charge, but ultimately, in our mind, in my mind specifically, there shouldn't be any extra punishment."
Since when is a late hit okay because you don't use your elbows?

And the further complaining about officiating? Well tell your players to start skating and they won't have to take infractions.

Excuse making is lame.

Totally agree. Jenner and everyone there knows that hit was late, and would be subject to suspension in the CHL.

You adapt to officiating, as it changes at every level, and will be different, depending on where you're playing. These kids aren't new to this. There are no excuses for the sloppy play, lack of effort, and laziness that caused a lot of the penalties in the first two games.

Not according to Spott, officiating is bad over there. This hit was a finishing of a check, it was a half second late. It's an interference penalty in any sane league or no penalty if the kid gets up. Jenner is not a goon, he is a good, skilled player that plays hard. Don't crucify the kid for playing hard, not a dirty hit like Clarkson's on Kaberle as some are trying to paint it as. He was very apologetic to the Swedish kid for being hurt, but that's hockey. You are taught not to admire your passes from an early age, obviously the swede is not used to playing a physical game that Canada can play.

Spott can spout what he wants, but if you watched the games it was spent shaking your head at the play of the Canadians.

I heard the whinging after the first game and expected to see phantom calls being made, but when they played a video clip of the infractions it was clear they were infractions. Even the Canadian announcers were saying for the most part the calls were legit.

Too many press clippings about how this Canadian team is going to rank up there with the last lock-out team.

Put the work boots on boys and do it on the ice and Spott you may be trying to circle the wagons, but all the talk isn't going to eliminate your responsibility of getting the team prepared.
