Like Lonewolfe said, Bouw only has 1 year left. Not risking Downie + Siemens for potentially nothing.

That's why I said it was an easy yes if it was just Downie for J-Bo but I wouldn't add Siemens. I was just commenting on Lonewolfe's comment about how he wouldn't trade Downie for J-Bo. I think you might have quoted the wrong guy.

Also Detroit would be dumb if they didn't accept Quincey for Downie.

Downie for JBO? Done. Add Siemens? No. I think your overrating JBO. He's earning 6+ million per year, is a UFA next year, and is certainly not playing his best hockey.

I would be more than happy keeping all our centers and letting our prospects develop. No need to to rush to get a D. My ideal choice would be obviously to get one via free agency, but other than that, I'd rather not trade anything significant and see how Siemens/Barrie/Elliot develop.

Stastny + for Staal or Staal for Duchene or Duchene + for McDonaugh

Not really sold on Richards - Stepan - Boyle as a cup caliber C situation.

Stastny for Staal, not sold on McDonaugh until he plays another season picking up where he left off.

I don't think Deauchines can be moved from Colorado.

If the Avs want a true (presumably young) top pairing D, I would think the other team would want Landeskog coming back.

Then so does the other team. True #1 D's are guys like Karlsson, Weber, Pietrangelo, Doughty, etc. Like it or not (and I really, really like Landeskog), top line wingers don't have the same value as a top pairing Dman, just like top line wingers don't have the same value of a true top line center, because #1 Dmen and centers are much, much harder to find then top line wingers.

If you want to acquire a huge asset like a #1 D, you have to give up something that hurts, and that would be Landeskog+. I doubt that the GMs of the teams for any of the Dmen I mentioned above would trade any of those Dmen for Landeskog unless the Avs added to him.

Why can't Mats Zuchene be part of the deal? Good #1/2 tweener, solid #1 if he gets his game together. Landeskog would be an outrageous asking price IMO

We don't have to acquire one of the names you mentioned. An Enstrom, Yandle or Kulikov will do just fine too.

I'm sorry...have you even been reading what Avs fans have said? No one has mentioned guys like Weber or Pietrangelo. Thats not what were looking for. Were looking for a partner to play with EJ. As Lonewolfe said, a guy like Yandle would be perfect. I don't know how you came up with the idea we are looking for one of the top defenders the in league or anything like that.
