Great News, he and Armia will be ready to go next year if and when the NHL season starts.

Canada leads 2-1 in the 2 period. Armia looks just dominant out there, heres a stream.

Armia has been the standout offensive player of this game so far among both teams

Yeah the passing from him has been the most notable, seems every pass is quick, and extremely accurate and could have lead to more goals for Finland, as Granlund from a great pass hit the post earlier in the game.

Armia named the player of the game for Finland. Murphy gets it for Canada.

Bakes is reporting Kelowna will talk with Sabres about Girgensons before making any decisions leading up to the WHL trade deadline.

Don't get your hopes up. If it's not good enough to play against the top 19 year olds from the Dub, what makes you think they are willing to let him play against the average and lesser players?

For what it's worth I think they are ruining him, so I really hope he goes to Kelowna before it is too late. I know this has been beaten to death, but just my two cents.

With Boone Jenner facing suspension, any chance Catanacci would be in the mix to take the vacated spot? Personally, I'd go with Shinkaruk, but that's the guy looking forward to see the top 2013 draft picks in this tournament speaking

I would much rather have Jenner on the team over Catenacci even if Jenner is suspended a few games

It depends on what a few is. 2? 5?

I am curious as well as to what the pecking order is of those last cut players.

It would be good for him, and I think within 5 games you'd see a huge burst from him.

Jake McCabe (2nd rounder, 2012) was named captain of the USA World Junior team.

I think it simply means they (Kelowna) are taking one more run at trying to get him to come there before deciding what to do before the WHL deadline. I don't think anything changed from the Sabres/Girgensons side of the equation to prompt this.

I agree. I think it is about Kelowna asset management--if they can't get him I think they look to move his rights and try to get something for him.

I gotta say, I think you guys got a good one in Brady Austin.

I get to watch him play on a regular basis for Belleville, and he looks really solid. Plays 25 minutes a night against other teams top players, is physical in the defensive zone, goes end to end seemingly once a game (including scoring on a few which results in highlight real goals). Guy has solid speed and a hard shot that he should probably use more often.

I really think he could be an NHL regular one day.

Sabres don't have many defensemen in the system like him.

Anyone miss the Grigorenko age controversy?
Well, it's back and this time it's coming from his own country:
Quote:
IgorEronko Alexander Semak, now coach of Ufa's Tolpar, says Mikhail Grigorenko is 2 years older than any other team #Russia U20 player #WJC #Sabres

IgorEronko Grigorenko said he's insulted reading that '****'. His age has always been doubted, FSB investigated it, but never got facts

Why is some random coach concerned about Grigorenkos age?

We all know he's 45, no need to keep telling us that. If he turns into a stud center, he can be 78 if he scores 80+ points every season.
