COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey today unveiled its preliminary roster for the 2013 U.S. National Junior Team. The 27 players will attend training camp Dec. 16-18 at the New York Rangers' Madison Square Garden Training Center in Tarrytown, N.Y. An additional camp will follow in Helsinki, Finland, with the final 23-man roster announcement scheduled for Dec. 23. The 2013 U.S. National Junior Team will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2012-Jan. 5, 2013, in Ufa, Russia.
yeah Armias looked great, 4 or 5 stellar passes so far, good dangle & drive, showed off the wrister which was saved. looking forward to watching this Finland team when they dress the players resting (Pokka, Barkov, etc)

Yeah the passing from him has been the most notable, seems every pass is quick, and extremely accurate and could have lead to more goals for Finland, as Granlund from a great pass hit the post earlier in the game.
Bakes is reporting Kelowna will talk with Sabres about Girgensons before making any decisions leading up to the WHL trade deadline.
Don't get your hopes up. If it's not good enough to play against the top 19 year olds from the Dub, what makes you think they are willing to let him play against the average and lesser players?
For what it's worth I think they are ruining him, so I really hope he goes to Kelowna before it is too late. I know this has been beaten to death, but just my two cents.
With Boone Jenner facing suspension, any chance Catanacci would be in the mix to take the vacated spot? Personally, I'd go with Shinkaruk, but that's the guy looking forward to see the top 2013 draft picks in this tournament speaking

I would much rather have Jenner on the team over Catenacci even if Jenner is suspended a few games
So what does this mean? is there a chance Girgensons gets sent down to WHL?
I think it simply means they (Kelowna) are taking one more run at trying to get him to come there before deciding what to do before the WHL deadline. I don't think anything changed from the Sabres/Girgensons side of the equation to prompt this.

I agree. I think it is about Kelowna asset management--if they can't get him I think they look to move his rights and try to get something for him.
I gotta say, I think you guys got a good one in Brady Austin.
I get to watch him play on a regular basis for Belleville, and he looks really solid. Plays 25 minutes a night against other teams top players, is physical in the defensive zone, goes end to end seemingly once a game (including scoring on a few which results in highlight real goals). Guy has solid speed and a hard shot that he should probably use more often.
I really think he could be an NHL regular one day.

Sabres don't have many defensemen in the system like him.
