No I have not said that prior to his injury, but he hasn't won since he's been back and he's made some stupid plays, 2 of them cost us 2 football games and a playoff berth. It's not Haley or Tomlin's fault we lost to Cincy and Dallas, it's Ben Roethlisberger's (and Antonio Brown against Dallas).
OL needs a serious upgrade. Hope they go there again in the first round. Can't have Ben getting smacked every game every time he drops back. Isn't that why they fired Arians, the likely coach of the year? Can't imagine any QB playing well with the way he gets hit all the time. Just look at Vick, also gets smashed all the time his whole career and is now a shell of himself. Will happen to Griffith as well if he doesn't stop taking huge hits all the time.
And I know Ben blew this last drive, but the entire game was a joke from a playcalling standpoint. He shouldnt have to be in these situations every week.
Lots of blame to go around today. Ben/Haley at the forefront. Defence gave them every opportunity to win.
The team doesn't need to be blown up, but accountability needs to be instilled in the locker room. You drop a bunch of passes, you should be sitting for long stretches. You take selfish penalties, you should be sitting for long stretches. If your play calling becomes predictable, someone else should take over for the remainder of the game.
The team gave out too many free passes to veterans that were dogging it this year and it cost them over and over.
I'm not saying Ben's a bad QB or has fallen off, I just think he's the one to blame for our last 2 losses.
I don't think Haley should be fired, I really don't. He just needs to make adjustments. The guy has coached good offenses, his offense almost beat our #1 defense in Super Bowl XLIII. Haley is not a bad coach, he's not bad for Ben, either. I think that's just blown out of proportion by the media and it has been since the season started.
Who do you guys want as OC? Norv Turner? Cam Cameron?
I have to agree about the play calling. It seemed like too often they would never even try to get a 1st down until third down, and they continued to throw way too many screen passes, even though the defenses were expecting them since like week 4.
The next WR screen I see will be too soon. The success ratio of that play has to be terrible, even worse when you run it all the time so it's not even a bit surprising. The WR screen near the end just made me laugh.

I don't think it needs a serious upgrade. DeCastro obviously needs some work and experience. Adams looked solid when he was playing.
Ben looked good in first 2 months, threw a lot of short passes. His sacks were cut down. After injury, it was completely different.

The O-Line needs to be healthy. Throwing another first round pick there when we have a million needs would be a mistake.

Yet he hits a guy for a 60 yarder, so which is it, injury or just a muffed pass?
I'm going with a muffed pass.
I wasn't talking about that pass. I was talking about since Ben was back from injury, he wasn't same. Same thing with last year when he got high ankle injury.
I don't think he should be fired.I just wish there was some pressure on Tomlin. He's made a number of decisions this year have been terrible, and I just feel he hasn't learned at all from them. Maybe he just needs a kick in the pants from ownership, lol!
