Thank you for the links anyway. Do you think Varnakov will try both goalies today? Is Makarov so bad or it's our D is not doing a good job?

Did they pull out Makarov after the Swiss scored their 5th? Or Vasilevsky started the 2nd period from the beginning?

6-5 after the second period. I wonder if we see the double digit score today :-)

It would be interesting to see the first period goals. I was kinda cheering for Makarov. I'm not sure why he let in 4 goals. How many shots did he have? How was our D? Were they all soft goals?

Varnakov said it before the game. It was the plan from the beginning to let both goalies play to get a feel for the game before tournament opening.

I knew that he was going to test both goalies. I wasn't sure about the timing when they replaced Makarov. I couldn't find any reliable broadcast with the game stats.

Why is there such a poor showing at the prelim games? This is embarrassing. Compare this to Canada's pre-camp intersquad games which were 100% sold out and rockin' the house.

One of the major reasons is that ice hockey isn't as popular in Russia (and Europe in general), other reason is that among those who do watch hockey, WJC is regarded as just kids playing (not in a good way ) so people do not have a lot of interest in the tournament, unlike Canada.

Please speak for yourself or in that regard your country. Hockey is obviously much more popular in Russia than you know.
