First off, I just want to state that if it is true that Derick Fisher's daughter is really sick, that is very unfortunate and I wish nothing but the best for her full recovery. It sounds like quite a sad story.

That being said, I have a bit of an issue with Fisher asking to be waved by Dallas. He claims he needs to be closer to his daughter. I hope that is indeed the case but he did this same thing with Utah, then signed with the Lakers and he also forced Houston's hand when he finished the year with the Thunder. Perhaps it is just a coincidence but it feels like to me he kind of screwed over three teams (Utah especially, Houston and now Dallas) with this.

I'm not trying to call him a frontrunner but surely I'm not the only one who thinks this is a bit sketchy, right?

That's what I heard as well, that he was waiting for an offer for a better team, but no one was calling.


Also, I thought this release had more to do with wanting to rehab at home (and hoping someone else would call after) and giving the Mavs a chance to go out and sign someone else who could help them now.
