JayBo is a top pairing Dman on Calgary. He would be #4 on the Jets.

lol it's true though. The guy had 69 hits last year. There is a reason he hasn't missed a game in the last 3 seasons.

Eller + Charles Hudon + 2nd round

I think Eller will pan out to be a 25/25 shutdown center. + He is 6.02 and was looking beaslty back in July on those pics.
The first deal is something to consider, if Gallagher is replaced with Tinordi. I'm not Plekanec fan, but he would help to replace Kane on the current roster. The second deal isn't even close to enough value for Kane.

It's overpayment but worth every penny
A deal with Calgary would have to look something like...

Giordano
Baertschi

for

Kane
Postma

to make it worth while for the Jets. If that's not feasible, then the Jets will look for better value elsewhere.

That's actually almost tempting! What are the odds that Postma improves enough defensively to be solid at the NHL level?

I think he could be a bottom pairing d-man right now. If he can improve his defensive play, he's got top 4 potential. His real value will be added with quality pp minutes. The Jets already have enough right handed d-men in the system (Bogosian, Buff, Trouba, Redmond) right now and could use an upgrade to Hainsey on the left side next to Bogosian.

You would rather have Ladd over P. Kane

Um yea. I would. I respect Patty Kane's talent, but I feel Ladd brings alot more to the table then just offensive talent. He's great defensively, he's a great leader, he's physical, he drops the gloves, and he still put in 28g while doing that. Granted he's more suited to a second line/two way role, he is an elite player at that position. The Jets are far softer without him, and that's not the vision for the team going forward.

I will say this, without a second thought and without regret or anything, I personally believe that Andrew Ladd is the MOST underrated player on HF boards.

Both are young and have terrific upside.

Who would Jet fans rather have, Kane or Duchene ?

No thanks. An overpayment would be necessary to move Kane, this isn't even close.

From an outside perspective it seems somewhat close.

Agree EKane is top shelf, pushing to make elite soon, so overpayment is in order.

But
"Evander Kane to the Rangers
Kreider, Boyle and McIlrath to Winnipeg"

doesn't work for NY either, because of Kreider's ceiling.

Kreider and Cane are complete packages, and the idea should be not to move coke for pepsi.

Both should and would be an expensive price.
See value of 2c Stepan and 1a/b D Girardi = good + fair value. If you want to flip that, something around Girardi would get a good offensive player at min. and possibly a higher grade sniper. Likewise, Stepan should get a good D.

Rangers add a lesser pick, Jets a higher one.

Someone like St. Croix who is showing good scoring touch is available as a throw in against some other asset

Wilson+ from the Preds. Wilson is from the Peg.

Seriously though, Duchene for Kane makes an enormous amount of sense both ways IMO.
