I did the math and Bowyer would of been 6 points back of Brad if he finished 3rd last weekend. It could of happened.

Pretty sure it would've been 14... So he ended up 39 points back. He finished 28th last week. Add 25 points to count him in 3rd and that's 14 points back. It really wouldn't have made a difference.

Sidenote: Tony and Carl both had 3 more points last year than Brad did, just for the record.

It looked pretty clear that had JJ's crew and car not gone to pieces, he would've won the race and probably won the championship. BK was playing it too safe and had gotten himself locked in to the middle of the field and was facing a fuel-mileage problem.

That's racing though. Congrats BK! Great to see Penske finally win a championship too.

A good place to check for next seasons paint schemes.

#2 gets a face lift, and #14 BPS are the notables.

So those are the cars that are supposed to look more like real stock (consumer) cars? Looks like they get to personalize the headlight, taillight, and grill decals. Even if you took all the sponsor decals off and painted them I don't think they would look like real cars.

Does anyone else like the look of this year's cars? I think they're pretty slick.

No issue with the cars, not a huge fan on the paint schemes that the Penske team will have.

BTW does anyone know of stores in Canada to buy NASCAR gear? Buying online the shipping doubles the price of the order.

Nationwide switch?

Turner and JR Motorsports trading drivers: Kasey Kahne and Brad Sweet joining JRM and bringing Great Clips to team; (had been the 30/38 car); assigned the #5, Regan Smith to the 7, AND Danica to Turner?

yes, but Swan Racing (was Inception Motorsports) is under a new format, and they weren't guaranteed a spot much like what Waltrip did in 2012, after crashing in the Duel.... Michael has only committed the last few years to Kentucky and the Restrictor plates in the 55. Stremme will return @ Phoenix. MW attempted this race for Hillman Racing in 2012...

Day 1 of Winter Testing is over; 11-Hamlin is done due to paternity leave;

Nationwide:

Mike Bumgartner named Crew Chief of the #5 (Kahne/Sweet) JRM entry;

the 36-TBR-Blaney spun and wrecked that entry this AM; then a 19 car draft session ended with a 10 car incident that effectively ended drafting.

Austin Dillon signs 1 race deal w/ Phoenix Racing and will be in the 51 @ LVMS; Kurt Busch to return to Phoenix for 3 Nationwide races;

NASCAR also needed to find out how the Gen 6 cars reacted while in a draft like that to know what needed to be improved upon, if anything....
