Hopefully this will be the first step towards a long line of great games. I've been playing OOTP annually since 2003 and it's been a steady rise for that series, which is the best sports sim on the market in my opinion.

Expansion Drafts will be included. You can move teams, "delete" them or add new teams, players from deleted teams become FA`s, if you add new teams you can hold an expansion draft (existing teams can protect players). All this is possible before any season you want.

Best news.

Can you create a team to enter in the NHL or what? A little confused, but still awesome!!!

Yes, the game will apparently give us the option of adding, moving or deleting teams if we wish to do so at the beginning of each season.

So, If you're playing historical mode, you can add the correct expansion teams during the actual years they came into the league, and actual expansion drafts will take place. If you're playing modern mode, you can move Phoenix to Quebec if you wish, or just bring in new teams all together for expansion. It's up to you.

I'm PUMPED.

I'm assuming the expansion and the expansion drafts will be handled the same way they are in OOTP, which is pretty damn flawless.

The only negative is that the options for contracting teams is pretty minimal...deletion leading to everyone becoming a free agent isn't exactly ideal, but the fact the teams are mobile anyway it's not much of an issue since I can think of maybe one OOTP league where I've resorted to deleting teams.

For someone who loves to mess with every little detail of the world in the game I love it.

Will the countries be editable like in OOTP? The last OOTP league I created I focused in Europe and I wanted European players, so I was able to mess with the countries and their creation levels and wind up with a league that was able to support a Dutch team having only Dutch players, a German team having only German players, and the team in Helsinki filled with Finns rather than Americans, Cubans, Mexicans, etc. I'm hoping I can mess around and make Denmark, Iceland, and Norway bigger players in the hockey world with FHM.

Don't forget you could assign players to a roster so you could do your own dispersal draft, even if the game doesn't support it in the first version. I don't think many people will be dispersing teams though.

As to the countries, I'm sure it will all be editable just like OOTP.

The only disappointment for me so far, is that there appears to be no international competitions in the first game - olympics, world juniors, world championships etc.. That's a bit of a let down, to be honest, but I'm sure it will be added for version 2 down the road.

They're sticking pretty close to the design of OOTP13, which is very good. Cannot wait!

Has any details been released on exactly how it will support online portal-leagues?

Aka, if I want to Commish a league of 16 GMs, what all do they have control over and how do we interact together? How will install look assuming I need a domain to set the league up, etc.
